I have a Griots DA and Ive become very comfortable with it. It came with their 2 and 3 polish, but neither seem to be agressive enough to take care of some of the more serious scratches and water etching I have on my hood. I know both the scratches and etching are both light enough to be fixed, so my question is:
What's your go to polish or compound for imperfections like these? Average swirls are gone, to give you an idea of where the paint is currently. Im not partial to any brand, so all suggestions are welcomed.

I love Menzerna, my suggestion would be http://www.autogeek.net/menzerna-po83-si1500.html and a Lake country Orange pad. Btw I use the recommended setup on a Griots DA as well. If the SI doesn't get it out, I think you'd need to wet sand to get it out. Hopefully Dan will chime in to clarify.

I was looking at Menzerna too but Im wondering if SI1500 could be too much. Maybe IP2000 is all I really need. SI1500 seems like a LOT of cut... I need to do some more research on pads too since Im not all that familiar with the options out there.

The SI probably won't be too much cut and even if it was more cut than you need it would only take a tiny bit more of clear off, so no "real" damage. You could always use the SI only in the scratch/waterspot areas, or use the PF2500, which is my general weapon of choice on cars and it gets almost everything out for me.

Every time I read this I read "Polish Compound" as like a bunker in Poland and I think "Well it didn't really help, so... :dunno: "
Because I am a huge dork.
