how much does it cost to get a license for riding? Are there separate costs for the course/test that they are talking about in the other thread?

It cost me $75.00 for the MSF class. Passing the riding test given at the end of that class exempts me from taking a riding test at the DMV. I still have to take the DMV written test though.

$27.50 to actually register a motorcycle for a year.
$2.00 to add the "M" class to your driver's license for a year.

It does thanks =-). From your exp do you think it would be easy enough to take that class with no experience at all? I realize thats kinda what you did, but you said you had someones dirt bike to ride arround on a little bit before hand? I was thinkin about doin it next summer or somethin, but I know ill head into it knowing nothing/with no experience.

I had no experience and did fine. I am also selling a red HJC helmet. $75.

Well i just happened to have two bottles of water that ill be willing to trade for that helmet. I would say money but seeing as this school RIPS THE HELL OUT OF FRESHMEN i dont have any =-). I payed $6.50 yeseterday for 4 AA batteries....i was literally speechless when i saw the price (well speechless after a few curse words)

You'd be fine. If you can ride a bicycle and drive a manual transmission car, you can pass the class. They took it really slow and didn't move on with things until everybody had it down. Yeah, I did ride around on a dirt bike a little bit, but all that really did was help me figure out the layout of the controls.

Finally got my "M" classification today. The knowledge test was actually pretty difficult - most of the questions were incredibly vague and *nothing* like the practice tests on the DMV website. And of course many of the answers directly contradict what we learned i the MSF course. Argh. But I passed, 20 out of 25 questions answered correctly.

Just barely dog, I failed the first time after taking the MSF.
