MLB-The Hunt for October - JPolen01 - 09-06-2012 Not sure how many baseball fans we have here, but fuck it. This playoff hunt is absolutely incredible. I know we probably don't have many Orioles fans either, but damn they are on fire! O's are only a game behind the Yankees who are currently playing like garbage. The Sox are in no place to make a run so right now all us O's fans are worried about are the Rays. And with the way the Nats are playing, I'm sure you Nova people are excited! The hunt for Orange October continues for Baldimore! Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - HAULN-SS - 09-06-2012 I'm a fan...trying to stick by my braves through their struggle to wildcard in chippers last year Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - NTIman - 09-06-2012 I'm a Nats fan. Really proud of them this year. If someone had told me last year that they'd be in first place at any point this season, I'd have laughed in their face. Maybe this is the year that things change for DC sports teams? Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - JPolen01 - 09-07-2012 That Nats have been playing extremely well, but we'll see how they do once Strasburg takes a seat and they lose their ace. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - WRXtranceformed - 09-07-2012 I hate to be the debbie downer, but I am going to be really glad when baseball season is over and I don't have to hear about it on Sportscenter anymore ![]() This is football season son! Everything else takes a backseat, even the FedEx cup playoffs that I love to watch. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - CaptainHenreh - 09-07-2012 This title would have been SO MUCH BETTER (you being an O's fan and all) if it were: "MLB -- HUNT FOR ORANGE OCTOBER." " Once more, we play our dangerous game, a game of baseball against our old adversary - The New York Yankees. For forty years, your fathers before you and your older brothers played this game and played it well. But today the game is different. We have the advantage. Did they say Gio was sitting with him? Or the entire bullpen? Swapping Strasburg for Lannan isn't going to change too too much. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - Ken - 09-07-2012 Yeah, it'd be preferred to have him but the playoffs is essentially 3 starters anyway. The 3 after Strasburg are still pretty damn good, just gotta hope they hold up to the pressure. MLB-The Hunt for October - JPolen01 - 09-30-2012 Orioles have clinched the wild card! They are also tied with the Yankees for the division. Haven't been to the playoffs since I was 5 years old. Proud to be an Os fan today. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - premiershine9 - 10-01-2012 Yankees. That is all. C'mon......what would you expect- I grew up 30 minutes from the stadium... MLB-The Hunt for October - JPolen01 - 10-01-2012 You better move over and watch out for the Os with the way you guys have been playing. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - Ken - 10-04-2012 *ahem* 2012 AL EAST CHAMPS!!! MLB-The Hunt for October - JPolen01 - 10-06-2012 Orioles are fucking in!!! First time since 1997. See you haters at the Yard Sunday. Lets go O's! #buckleup Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - premiershine9 - 10-06-2012 See you sunday night Jon, i'll be wearing my #42 Mo jersey. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - Steve85 - 10-08-2012 Been out of baseball since HS but I'm gonna Monday Morning Manage anyway... Tie game, 8th inning, lead off batter on second, closer with 51/54 save record warming up. Why not try manufacturing the run? I loved the Earl Weaver "get a guy on and swing for the fences" as much as anyone else but in this situation I like to move the runner and take two shots to get him home from 3rd. I think it would have changed the mindset of the two teams in the ninth by putting NY against the wall instead of breathing life into them. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - Evan - 10-08-2012 Can someone please tell me why the lower seed gets home field advantage? Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - DavidM - 10-08-2012 Evan Wrote:Can someone please tell me why the lower seed gets home field advantage? Its a 5 game series so they play a 2-3 to minimize travel. Re: MLB-The Hunt for October - Ken - 10-08-2012 Steve85 Wrote:Been out of baseball since HS but I'm gonna Monday Morning Manage anyway... As a Yankee's fan, i was terrified that they would do that, but they did have their 3/4 hitters coming up. In theory, these guys shouldn't have to bunt, they should be able to get the runners over with their power. Plus, since they are 3/4 hitters, who knows how well they even do bunt.
