Not sure how many baseball fans we have here, but fuck it. This playoff hunt is absolutely incredible. I know we probably don't have many Orioles fans either, but damn they are on fire! O's are only a game behind the Yankees who are currently playing like garbage. The Sox are in no place to make a run so right now all us O's fans are worried about are the Rays. And with the way the Nats are playing, I'm sure you Nova people are excited!

I'm a Nats fan. Really proud of them this year. If someone had told me last year that they'd be in first place at any point this season, I'd have laughed in their face.
Maybe this is the year that things change for DC sports teams?

I hate to be the debbie downer, but I am going to be really glad when baseball season is over and I don't have to hear about it on Sportscenter anymore
This is football season son! Everything else takes a backseat, even the FedEx cup playoffs that I love to watch.

Yeah, it'd be preferred to have him but the playoffs is essentially 3 starters anyway. The 3 after Strasburg are still pretty damn good, just gotta hope they hold up to the pressure.

Orioles have clinched the wild card! They are also tied with the Yankees for the division. Haven't been to the playoffs since I was 5 years old. Proud to be an Os fan today.

Been out of baseball since HS but I'm gonna Monday Morning Manage anyway...
Tie game, 8th inning, lead off batter on second, closer with 51/54 save record warming up. Why not try manufacturing the run? I loved the Earl Weaver "get a guy on and swing for the fences" as much as anyone else but in this situation I like to move the runner and take two shots to get him home from 3rd.
I think it would have changed the mindset of the two teams in the ninth by putting NY against the wall instead of breathing life into them.

As a Yankee's fan, i was terrified that they would do that, but they did have their 3/4 hitters coming up. In theory, these guys shouldn't have to bunt, they should be able to get the runners over with their power. Plus, since they are 3/4 hitters, who knows how well they even do bunt.
