The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Levey - 04-12-2012 Well, as some of you know, I have a tendency to buy broken ass motorcycles and then sell them to people that don't care about the brokenness and are to willing pay me my overpriced asking prices. Well, today I bought my first non-broken-ass bike. She's a 2007 ZX6R. 8,700 miles. I bought it from the original owner who happens to be a 50-something year old Southern Baptist preacher. That means it was actually broken in, and no serious abuse. It has a couple of scratches for which I just ordered a Colorrite touch-up pen. Other than that, it is very clean. It is bone stock, down to the ridiculous rear taillight/license plate bracket/big stupid flap thing under the exhaust. I will try to throw some pictures up of the scratches before and after. Other than that, the only changes I may make will be maybe an under tail kit and tinted windscreen. I am keeping everything performance-wise on the bike stockmaybe. I know the obnoxious green is not for everyone, but I love that shit.
Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Jake - 04-12-2012 I love the lime green. And the Heartbeat sticker on the truck behind it. Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Kaan - 04-12-2012 Needs some Olhins and some steel braided lines
Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Levey - 04-12-2012 Yea, this picture kind of sums up my whole fleet. One Chevrolet tailgate with "heartbeat" sticker = essence of 2 camaros. Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Levey - 04-12-2012 Kaan Wrote:Needs some Olhins and some steel braided lines ![]() For what this bike will be used for, neither of those are really necessary. Both would be nice to have, but not worth the $$ if they are not truly being utilized. Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Kaan - 04-13-2012 IMHO, dialing in the suspension for you can completely change the bike. brake lines help keep the feel consistent and i'll take that any time i have to do an emergency stop. Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - SlimKlim - 04-13-2012 All I know is when it comes to bikes you can't possibly go wrong doing what Kaan says Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - CaptainHenreh - 04-13-2012 SlimKlim Wrote:All I know is when it comes to bikes you can't possibly go wrong doing what Kaan says
Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Levey - 04-13-2012 The $1,000 dollar shock isn't happening, but I'll entertain the idea of the brake lines. What brand stands out in that category? Re: The "Not Really Project ZX6R" - Kaan - 04-13-2012 you dont need shock set ups unless the stock stuff wont adjust for you. you will want the static set for you and possibly the spring rate/rebound. it really does make a huge difference. I run galfer stainless lines. unlike cars, you are pretty limited on brake line companies. also, Kawi's are known for HP so if you like doing big pulls you might get head shake, so look into a steering dampener. hit up the local forums and ebay for used stuff. |
