TSX vs. IS300 - Feersty - 09-13-2004

I found a little discussion on Honda-Tech, and thought it might be applicable to those folks that are looking for a first REAL car, after getting a REAL job. Both are very capable sport sedans and Lorena just bought an IS300 so we have to let her know she made the right decision. Here are some specs:

IS300: TSX:

I like the Altezza, I've thought about getting one

My comments after reading the origional thread:

You know it's a Honda forum because every third person complains about the IS300's "shitty gas mileage." Sigh, buying a nice car is like buying a boat - you don't buy it if you can't afford the gas. If you can blow 30g on a car, I'd be willing to bet you can afford the gas. Anyone who has that much disposable income doesn't give a ratÔÇÖs ass about fuel economy. If you asked Honda-Tech members if they would like to own a TSX or an Enzo, and both were exactly the same price, people would be bitching "BUT IT GETS 9MPG!!!! VTEC OWNZ!~"

I'll take the IS300, thank you very much.

Any "what car to buy" question on honda tech ends up with a shitload of pimple-faced minimum-wage job havin' pussy whipped little bitches shouting "omg buy a hatch an put a swap in it omghi2u so fast and so much cheaper with jDm suspension y00000!!!!" but they fail to realize they're still driving a rattletrap shitbox econocar and there's more to cars than just going fast in a straight line.

Anyways, if it were my choice I'd like the TSX. But since even though we have real jobs we're too busy doing stupid shit like driving around in circles on track and cant afford it.

Mike's car is a great track car - cheap, reasonably fast, easy on gas and consumables.

But for a daily driver, I would never put $20K into a econo-shitbox before I bought a TSX.

Very very true. Daily driver I want comfort and I want space (and I want bitches to look at me when I drive by, not because my exhaust is loud)... I couldn't see spending what some people do on their hatches to make them "nice."
