Down with the Bookstore! MM book thread - Cody - 01-05-2012
I'm sure the good majority of us have had our experience of getting raped by the bookstore's overcharging and underpaying on campus. I figured I'd start up this thread so we can exchange some books at fair prices amongst ourselves. I have a consumer behavior book and I believe I still have a financial accounting textbook as well. Might have some more, I'll take a look when I get back to the burg tomorrow.

When I was in grad school, I sold most of my books back to textbooks.com or amazon. Unfortunately, each book was priced differently on the two sites and I ended up having to check each book on both to get the best price. In the end, I think I ended up sending 30% to amazon, 30% to textbooks and donating the rest.

I used to buy the cheapest copy I could find on amazon, then sell it back to the JMU bookstore. Pretty sure I sold quite a few of them for more than I paid.

I purchased at Amazon and sold back to outpost (pays more + free scratch offs). In any event, this is still a decent idea as this would be cheaper if it works.

I didn't buy a single book my entire senior (and maybe junior) year :p Once I figured out that I could either borrow or check out any book i needed at the library that money all went to beer.
