F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-20-2011 So I had this stupid wall that made the kitchen feel like you were in jail. So I took it down! All work done by myself and friends ![]() How it was when I moved in. ![]() HOLE! ![]() ![]() Hole cut, drywall repaired, granite installed ![]() ![]() trimmed out, paint, speakers! Best mod ever to my house. Makes the kitchen so much more usable! Re: F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-20-2011 My garage is a good size. 22 by 30. Can fit 4 rabbits, or 2 cars, 3 bikes, big table, and workbench with room to spare. But I wanted more storage space. SHED! ordered it to match my house It is a 15x12 I think? Found a good spot for it. Took out a tree or two and leveled ground before delivery. ![]() ![]() Now has sweet stepping stones from driveway to shed ![]() Dont have pictures but I installed color matching latus all around the bottom to fill gap between shed and ground ![]() pic is from first day. Currently is jam packed. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-20-2011 House had a new deck, Needed staining, You get the point. No finished pictures.
Re: F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-20-2011 Landscaping!!! When I moved in it was junk, Everything died. Time for an upgrade! All plants new and added a little wall around landscaping. Pics are pre mulch and seasonal flowers for that little bit of color. ![]() ![]() ![]() Came out awesome. Hard work though. I respect landscapers much more now. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-20-2011 NEXT MOD... DRIVEWAY WIDENING! I want to be able to park 2392349074907234790 cars in my driveway. House originally did not have a garage. The driveway went from 2 wide to one. The driveway is pretty long. I hated having to park cars in grass and gravel. Keep in mind between the 3 of us at my house we have 15 cars! This was however a job I couldnt tackle myself. Got a ton of estimates and pulled the trigger ![]() before when I first bought house. ![]() prep to widen one side ![]() other side ![]() After 6 months I am going to have everything re sealed to it all matches black. All said and done its about 3 cars wide for about 30 feet then 2 cars wide for about 50 feet then the last 30ish feet is one wide. Also put a turn around area between the trees so you dont have to back all the way up driveway. I couldnt widen it 2 all the way because of septic field and sweet stone pillars at end of driveway. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-20-2011 Totally uncool mod. Gutter guards. This doesnt get much cool points with the ladies but its a necessity when you live on a heavy wooded 2 acre lot. Got a couple estimates for around a grand, Bought it and did it myself for 130 bucks and an afternoon. ![]() ![]() works awesome! Re: F cars! Mod houses! - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-21-2011 Nice job on the kitchen! I really like what you did there, I remember that feature when I was over there distinctly; definitely helped. Oh and nice yard work...f that stuff. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - Mike - 11-21-2011 hah. like it. well done on all the work. i don't care for the massive driveway, but it's what you want/need and to each his own. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - Jeff - 11-23-2011 Where are you living these days Blair? I really like where the house is located back off the road in the wooded area. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - Evan - 11-25-2011 landscaping looks great. my wife did something similar to our house in the spring and she worked her ass off! you definitely dont realize how much work goes into it Re: F cars! Mod houses! - .RJ - 11-25-2011 How much was that shed? I'd like to do something similar (although smaller) in my back 'yard'. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - Evan - 11-25-2011 home depot has the same one I have for $1k delivered Re: F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-25-2011 The house is in manassas (pretty much dumfries/nokesville area)- in the nice part of manassas on a 2 acre wooded lot. Right on the 234 bypass (dumfries rd) 14 miles from 66 and 10 miles from 95. Landscaping was a bitch. But the payoff is huge. I have simlar plans for side and rear of house next spring. Shed was around $2700. They can be had for a lot less but I was willing to pay more for a better product. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - Steve85 - 11-25-2011 We have a very similar lot with big trees over the house - are those gutter guards working for you? My gutters get completely stuffed every fall and I need to do something... Great work BTW. We've been at our house off and on for 5-6 years now. It was built and decorated in 1982, walls have come down, gone up and been moved, and a lot of carpet and wall paper hauled out. Love the front porch posts - I really want to get rid of our typical round columns and do exactly what you have there. Re: F cars! Mod houses! - BLAIR - 11-25-2011 Gutter guards work great. Did some online research. Got these at home depot or lowes. |
