Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - G.Irish - 10-26-2011 The GF's car needs some bodywork and I'm trying to shop for a good place to get the work done withing about a 2 or 3 hour radius of Nova. I'm thinking she can get a much better deal outside of Nova but I want to see if anyone knows of any reputable body shops. Got any recommendations? Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - Goodspeed - 10-26-2011 My dad had some repainting/minor dent work done on his car last year by Vienna Autobody. The car had been in storage for a year and on/off a few container ships in its lifetime so it needed some attention. Work looked very good (slight orange peel here and there) and IIRC the price was fair NoVa. I spoke with Bruce myself about some work for the Miata I'm considering and he seemed nothing less than completely straightforward and honest. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - Sully - 10-26-2011 I used to work at Pence Collision Center down around the Richmond area. There are two bodymen there that do incredible work. The painter there used to be one of the best I've seen in the richmond area (did my truck) but he left ad: I hear the paint work has suffered a little but still leaps and bounds over most other shops in the area.Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - G.Irish - 10-26-2011 Thanks guys, phone calls made. Any other recommendations? Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - Jewels - 10-26-2011 Maybe give Jeff a call. I know Woodstock Garage has a bodyshop. And we've at least seen what the paint looks like. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - Evan - 10-26-2011 after reading the subject I thought it was Gerald's WRX vs Tree Part TWO Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - WRXtranceformed - 10-26-2011 Terry's Auto Body in Purcellville. I've known Terry and his son Derek for years...they have done a lot of work for my cars in the past. I believe they do all of the body work for Leesburg Subaru and some of the other dealers in that area. Just ask for Derek or Terry and tell them that you are a friend of mine hopefully they still remember me, it's been a long time haha

When my F150 was crashed into, I took it there and I had to bring it back twice but that was a pretty major repair. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - HAULN-SS - 10-27-2011 I used the place lee was talking about to get my subaru hood painted a few years ago - top notch work. Ive taken the malibu to get damage from getting rear-ended to Chantilly Auto Body. The paint work looked awesome, and they detailed the car, but then i discovered like a week later the MFers left off some body clips at the top of the bumper so now that pops out all the time. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - .paul - 10-28-2011 D&V autobody in chantilly or maybe a little further out now? I think Blair on the board worked at precision. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - xvxax - 04-07-2012 So how did this turn out? Where did you go? Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - G.Irish - 04-07-2012 We ended up taking the car to Precision Auto in Manassas. Honestly I wasn't impressed with the quality of the work. I'll have to look at the GF's car again but from what I remember the orange peel looked pretty nasty. Also, when we went in there the guy tried to quote my girlfriend a higher price than he had quoted me when I send pictures and told him what we needed done. When the girlfriend called him out on it he's like, "Oh, I must've used the wrong labor rate in there." My girlfriend said she was watching his screen and he didn't change the labor rate, just took some money off the final number or something. They were very friendly and nice over there, and to be fair he did say to bring the car back if there was any part of the work we weren't happy with. I would've taken it back for a wet sanding but the girlfriend didn't want to go through the hassle. It's her car and she paid for the work so I didn't push her to get the work touched up. I wouldn't go back there, but a large part of that is that it's very difficult to get all the way out to Manassas from DC without leaving work fairly early. That ended up being why the GF didn't feel like going back for adjustments. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - G.Irish - 04-07-2012 I actually backed my WRX into a wall in a parking garage and scratched up my bumper so I may be getting some more body work soon. This time I'll probably try Vienna Auto Body. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - xvxax - 04-07-2012 I've used Springfield Auto Body in the past, and they are bad. I got a recommendation from a BMWCCA race guy who was using them to repair track damage and such. They repaired a 3" long scratch and dent in my rear quarter pretty close to the crease of the body. The blending was bad and there was a lot of orange peel. Also disturbing, the tech that worked on the car actually broke the shifter carrier out of the car because he/she could not figure out how to get the car into reverse. So they had to put the car back on the lift when I went to pick it up to fix it. Then they had to buff out the orange peel I found. I wet sanded and clayed the rest of the issues out myself. Let me know how Vienna goes. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - navin - 04-08-2012 Pretty happy with the work D&V did with the ITR. I still need to go back and get parts buffed, so I can't make the final decision. They are pricey, but if you are going through insurance then I'd def. go with them. Re: Any Good Bodyshops you can Recommend? - G.Irish - 04-22-2013 Back from the dead, I used Vienna Auto Body and I was pretty happy with the result on the Subaru. I'm going to take the wife's car over there tomorrow to get a touch up before we sell it, hopefully we'll get good results again.
