Question is, will we get it over here? We get the RS250 but only in the Aprilia Cup race version. Also, the link is saying it should hang with the Japanese 600's. I kind of doubt it unless its insanely light. Most of the inline 4 600's can walk on a Ducati 749 which has 25% more horsepower...

Still, I'd love to have a little V-twin, especially if its not to expensive. On the other hand a 749 Dark is only $11995.

- Ginger - 09-10-2004

Yes.... but it's an Aprillia, what else do you have to say?

You buy some things out of passion, although they may not be the best... I look at most toys out of Italy that way. Sure, I could buy a Trek 5900 OCLV 110 HC Madone and ride the exact same bike that Lance rides - or I could buy a nice, beautifully crafted Fondriest. Really, the Trek might be a little more capable (and definitely more friendly on your designer wallet), but, call me crazy, I'd take the Fondriest any day - it's got soul.

Those Italians, they're silly, they do things that way.

Andrew, who still likes Detroit anyways

Its a lot like the Ferrari mystique, a lot of other cars will smoke the Ferrari for the money but Ferrari has an allure all its own.

Yeah, exactly like that.

I need to use less words.

So even though it is 450cc, how much would it be in US Dollars.

- Ginger - 09-10-2004

It's Italian...

Dave's Supra MIGHT cover it.

- G.Irish - 09-10-2004

Aprilias are not stupid expensive like Ducatis though. Maybe $8-12k. For comparison the RS250 fully prepped race bike is only $8500

- .RJ - 09-10-2004

Damn, maybe I need one of these after I crash my first bike a few times.

- Kaan - 09-10-2004

RJ you drive a R.... and you are a ricer.... you know you are going to want a duc

- .RJ - 12-28-2005

450cc twin motard coming in the spring... same engine?

- G.Irish - 12-28-2005

I'd assume its the same engine but I haven't heard a whisper about the RSV450 in probably over a year. The SXV Supermoto has about 70 ish hp and is going for around $8k from the lastest rumors. It won't be street legal for 06 but may be for 07.

- .RJ - 12-28-2005

Well, there's no current info, but I'm starting to see more noise on the interweb about the RSV450, so maybe something's brewing?

- Kaan - 12-28-2005

I'd pimp it... i've been milling over new bikes... am having a hard time picking just one... its a curse... thats why i can never keep a bike for too long.

- .RJ - 01-26-2007

Well if aprilia wont do it, gotta go your own way...

:BLORT:

I have nothing further.

- PGK - 01-26-2007

Interesting special. Could be neat. On the other hand, could be nothing at all out of the ordinary.

Either way, it looks like Aprilia have themselves a fantastic little motor. Would be a lot of fun to see it produced in a roadracing chassis and then pitted against a field full of unlimited-class singles.

- Ginger - 01-26-2007

And then get banned Wink

Sorta like their foray into supermoto :-D

Some singles classes allow smaller-displacement twins
