I can look into a shoutbox but nothing will happen until all of this server/forum/website software upgrade happens. Which will not be terribly soon. Tentative goal is like, Christmas?

I'm not sure I'd be against an "in-board" IM system for MM, with group chat capability, but I am not sure how often it would be used. But IMHO, I think a chatbox would just shit up the forum.
