Media page? Added up top with the forum, calender, etc buttons.
We could link it up to MM members Youtube/Vimeo/Picasa etc etc pages?
With all the photographers, and people with GoPros in the club could easily fill a page up.
Registered users can create links to their pages. Could help with current students/interested parties seeing what we are all about.
Thoughts???

I think it could be fun. Are you thinking one collective page with everyone's stuff on it, or a "garage" for each user, with the "media" link being a collection of all user's "garages"? A lot of forums do the garage thing, but I'm not sure what would be required to implement it.
If it was one collective page how would content be managed? Would each user add their media to it, or would an admin maintain the content? For videos I don't think we would necessarily have to link to member's pages on external sites, embedding from vimeo/youtube should be pretty easy. Creating a pretty gallery of them might be tricky.

I like the garage idea, and ive noticed alot of forums doing that as well. I dont think we would want to burden one single person in approving/adding the links. So the garage idea seems like the best bet IMO.

I like the idea a lot. One question before I think about the rest of the logistics. Do we want this landing page to be organized by user, or by type of event (so HPDE has a page, road racing has a page, AX, etc)? It would be easier to do it by user, I think.
This might tie in with new server/hosting and an upgrade of the forum software and things. phpBB is a shittastic forum software and we use it because it's free. The rest of the site is built on WordPress and I'd rather use that as a base for the message boards too.

This'll be a long-term project, unless I get down time at work soon. AluMMni fund for hosting? I'll look into costs there too. I own some server space so we could probably just move it there, and pay for the domain name (the mmsports.org part for the non-techies).
