FS: The Gravel Express - CaptainHenreh - 08-26-2011

First, CL ad: http://harrisonburg.craigslist.org/cto/2566945932.html
Rex's CL Ad Wrote:Well, you know, sometimes you just need a little change. And that's what I'm looking to do, a little change up.

So. Without further Ado, my WRX!

Specs:
2002 WRX Wagon "Bugeye"
5 Speed manual transmission
Sedona Red Pearl
Under 130k miles. (I think it's like, 128?)
Bitchin' sunroof. (Yeah, that's right, a sunroof on a Bugeye. Looks factory, but if you're a subie nerd you'll know it's not. Doesn't leak though!)
Factory Six Disc CD Changer
Cold AC, Hot Heat

Bone stock, save for an all-metal radiator and an Optima Yellowtop battery.
The trans shifts really well. No grinding. (An oddity for this vintage WRX)
Within the last 20k miles I had the following done:
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Spark Plugs
All fluids (Trans, diff, Coolant, and Brake)
New front rotors
Compression check (Don't remember the exact numbers but the mechanic said they were "Good with no large deviation between the cylinders")

Issues:
Some hail dents on the hood. WRX hoods are aluminum, so they dent if you look at them funny. It never bothered me.
Sometimes the passenger side speaker cuts out. Don't know why, never bothered to look.
The paint is a little rough. Again, if you know anything about Subarus, this won't surprise you. It's not bad, it just looks the 10 model years old that it is. I'm trying to be as honest as possible here.

Included with the car is:
"H6" rear brake upgrade 'kit'. (Rotors and caliper brackets). Never got around to installing these.
STI Catless up-pipe. Never got around to installing that, either.
Spare wheels. The tires I have on there now have lasted me longer than I expected and I haven't gotten the motivation to mount the BRAND NEW high performance tires on the "RS Six Spoke" wheels I have. I might do this next week. Right now there's some crap tires mounted on crappy stock WRX wheels.

I drive this thing every day to work and it's never let me down. I really like this car, but I got a Jeep so I don't need the AWD "every day" any more. Figured I'd try something different. But I'd need cash to do that so here we go.

After this "hurricane" blows through, I'll take some new pictures. For now, picture a Burgundy Bugeye WRX wagon and you'll have it.

Asking $8000 or best offer. You can email me above, or give me a ring at Five Seven 1 --- Nine9One --- FifteenFourtyfive

No trades, please.

Thanks!

So, you guys know what's up. You've seen the thread on this car, and you know exactly every dime I've spent on it. If you can do math, you can figure out that I'm basically asking for exactly what I have in the car, or best offer. (Maybe a hundo or two more for some "breathing room" for the inevitable lowballs that will ensue.)

It's a good car. I drive it every day to work and back, and it's never let me down, and never gotten less than 20mpg, no matter how I drive. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, help a brother out. Smile

Love,

Rex

Ad up on NASIOC, if someone wants to throw this up on H-T or VADriven or Bimmerforums or whatever, I'd be obliged.

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - Mike - 08-26-2011

you no mention the hole in the front bumper in your ad. that's kind of a big deal Tongue

Mike Wrote:you no mention the hole in the front bumper in your ad. that's kind of a big deal Tongue

I thought it was obvious? And I actually do in my Nasioc ad.

To be honest I forgot about it. It's a hole in the plastic where some dipshit slowly backed into it with his hot exhaust.

Besides, adds character.

Do we get to say "I told you so" on this one? I have a hard time keeping track.

About what? I've had this car for more than a year, and now that I have a driveway and garage, I don't need to have a AWD Wagon for a daily. Simple as that.

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - Apoc - 08-26-2011

Wondering what about a driveway and a garage makes you not need an AWD wagon.

...and a year is still RJ territory. :-P

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - CaptainHenreh - 08-26-2011

Fender is fixed. Looks really good, actually! Pain in the ass, though.

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - Jeff - 08-28-2011

Getting new tires next weekend right? That is a selling point!

Yes, so there are some imperfections in the body. It's a Subaru. Aren't they supposed to be scrappy? In the immortal words of Han Solo, "She may not look like much but she's got it where it counts, kid."

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - CaptainHenreh - 08-29-2011

BTW, if an MMer finds a buyer for me, 50 bucks to the club, 50 bucks to member.

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - CaptainHenreh - 08-31-2011

Figured my price was too high, so lowered it to 7500. I'll probably keep it there for a while.

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - flintster55 - 09-01-2011

I sold my bugeye for $7800 with 139k miles just for reference so your price is definitely reasonable

Yeah. I think this price is going to be pretty firm.

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - JustinG - 09-01-2011

Re: FS: The Gravel Express - fiveoh2go - 09-01-2011

Meh, it's a wagon. I don't do wagons.

Sorry, answer is still no to the wagon. Besides, I just paid the Cobra off. Now I need/have the opportunity to save up some extra cash to cover the cost of repairs **cough cough** Kenne Bell **cough cough** fuel system** cough** that I'll need since the car's warranty has expired.
