Who here sells fancy oils? Lee? DJ? - Jeff - 08-15-2011

I am going to be installing this Limited slip diff in my Challenger later this week or early next and I was wondering if anyone in MM still has a hookup on Redline or Royal Purple gear oil? Correct me if I am wrong but you don't need limited slip additives with either of those do you? It is a Dana Power-Lok in a Chrysler 8 3/4 from a 69 Dodge Coronet if you have an application guide.

I used to have an Amsoil "dealer license" but I let it run out because I switched over to Redline.

IMO I would avoid RP and stick with Redline. Cheapest prices I have found are through the Amazon dealer network, but I haven't looked lately. I need to, I'm down to only a couple quarts of motor oil. Their ATF type F racing fluid is the shiz.

Definitely redline. And call up Goodspeed, he works at OG Racing and has Redline available locally for good prices. I actually need to order some fluid as well, so im calling up goodspeed later today. If you can meet me at Summit Point Saturday/Sunday I can bring it for you.

PS- I actually run 75w90 and then the additional Limited Slip Additive available from General Motors. Its their LSD additive. Ive been told by plenty a diff builder to use it. But you must use it with the "non-additive" 75w-90. I think its like 75w-90ND.

Is there a large market for ATF racing fluid??

+1 for Redline

I wouldn't say there is a large market, but it is REALLY popular amongst the Acura crowd because of some work done by a forum member and his transmission mechanic. The stock Honda Z1 (coupled with pressure sensor switches that wear out every 40k miles or so) was apparently the culprit for a lot of TL transmissions failing over the years because it was allowing the clutch packs to wear too fast. The composition of Redline's Type F is such that it allows for basically 0 wear to the CPs...a lot of members have seen instant results in fixing studdering transmissions and a lot of people in the know think that by running this fluid it could extend the life of the transmission well out to near or beyond the life of the engine.

I've been running it for the past year in my car, the shifts are WAY crisper, there is no slop and so far no issues. The TL-S has a slightly overbuilt transmission compared to the other versions (has a transmission cooler for example) but I didn't want to take any chances.

I would say there is a large market. Probably a lot more drag cars than road race cars out there.
