Project ReXJ - CaptainHenreh - 06-20-2011 Well. I bit the bullet and bought the other "Inline 6" auto that MM is famous for. Specs: 1989 Jeep Cherokee 128,362 miles ?D35 Rear Axle? 4WD 4.0 "Standard" Output AW4 Auto Factory Towing package The seller's pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I couldn't drive it home today (seller had to find the title, and I didn't have a trip permit) so I'll pick it up tomorrow. Problems/Issues: Rust through rear bumper (but not through the mounting). This will be solved by a bitchin' new tube steel bumper. I also need to take everything off back there, sandblast, and POR-15. Rear Driver's Side window won't roll down. They're power windows, so it might be a wiring issue. We'll see when we dig into it. All the other windows work though. Power steering is a little, er, grabby I guess is the word. Probably needs a new pump or rack. NBD. There was a small (most likely oil) fire under the hood, that singed the injector harness. All the injectors seemed to work ok, but I want to repair it just the same. AC doesn't work. Jason...? Eventual goal: Pretty much this. Re: Project ReXJ - ScottyB - 06-20-2011 been too long since we had a fresh Rex project. i'm looking forward to the awesomeness. Re: Project ReXJ - Kaan - 06-20-2011 jeeps are like an art canvass... dont "copy" other people... make it your master piece! I'll get the welder, chop saw, grinder, pry bars, etc ready for work
Re: Project ReXJ - CaptainHenreh - 06-20-2011 I'm just taking Jeff's Jeep for Inspiration, that's all. Re: Project ReXJ - Kaan - 06-20-2011 Jeffs mopar thread... he owes me long black marks on the pavement and a police chase video you must flex your jeep on a mall curb... police lights in the picture are a bonus Re: Project ReXJ - NTIman - 06-20-2011 I gotcha covered. I can rewire the injectors and all that. Id guess it needs a ps pump. Cant promise anything on the ac, plus itll be expensive due to r12 Re: Project ReXJ - V1GiLaNtE - 06-20-2011 Hellz Yea.. Now we need to plan a MMXcursion! Re: Project ReXJ - JustinG - 06-20-2011 LOL that didn't take long CaptainHenreh Wrote:Rust through rear bumper (but not through the mounting). Re: Project ReXJ - Apoc - 06-20-2011 I like the part where it was once on fire. Re: Project ReXJ - Jeff - 06-20-2011 I'll be right there by your side Rexy if you need anything. With the power steering...any chance it might just be low on fluid? They have a box not a rack. Re: Project ReXJ - Kaan - 06-21-2011 JustinG Wrote:LOL that didn't take long i like the bumper mounts they have but i'd rather gather parts from jeeptubes/rokmen/TMRcustoms... i need to find a place on sylvias jeep for this http://www.tmrcustoms.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=&products_id=410&zenid=f2c18273ef43fa92c617b39594190019 Re: Project ReXJ - CaptainHenreh - 06-21-2011 Flossy new pictures, fresh from Charlottesville: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rusty rear lid latch: ![]() Should be an easy fix. Re: Project ReXJ - Jeff - 06-21-2011 Shroud would help with cooling as well. Looks great! You made a good buy for yourself. Wish I would not have thrown that bumper away. Re: Project ReXJ - CaptainHenreh - 06-21-2011

Actually we need to protect the stockers (yes that's you goodspeed)Rex we need to find a "junk" HO 4.0 to build!
