Lug Nuts - JPolen01 - 06-05-2011 I need to grab a set of short lug nuts to clear my center caps. The McGuard set I bought are to long which can only be blamed on myself for lack of thinking when I ordered them. I found these lugs thanks to Andrew. http://www.race-studs.com/servlet/the-48/M12x1.5--dsh--Conical%2C-Steel/Detail They are the correct size for my car (2000 Honda Accord) and will be short enough to clear my center caps. Anyone have any experience with short lugs (Brands, Prices, etc)? These seem to be the cheapest I can find at 98 cents a piece. Seems like a no brainer to get them. Re: Lug Nuts - Kaan - 06-06-2011 they should work. why arent you getting a set of OEM lugs? where did your old lugs go? Re: Lug Nuts - CaptainHenreh - 06-06-2011 Step 1: Go to Advance Auto Parts. Step 2: Ask for lugnuts for your car. Re: Lug Nuts - Jake - 06-06-2011 Kaan Wrote:they should work. why arent you getting a set of OEM lugs? where did your old lugs go? I had to get different shaped lug nuts for the Miata when I put the Koseis on. Something about the shape of the "barrel" where each lug bolt sticks through is different, so OEM Mazda would not seat properly on non-stock wheels. I'm guessing Jon is having a similar issue. I bought some Muteki lug nuts (in bawlin' red yo) from eBay and they've held the wheels on just fine. No idea on shorter ones though. Wouldn't it make more sense to extend the studs? Re: Lug Nuts - Kaan - 06-06-2011 Jake Wrote:Kaan Wrote:they should work. why arent you getting a set of OEM lugs? where did your old lugs go? his long lugs dont fit because of a center cap. i dont know what wheels he's running but if he has center caps... they sound stock. Re: Lug Nuts - JPolen01 - 06-06-2011 Running ESM 002R wheels, the same ones in my build thread (BBS RS Reps). I needed new lugs because as Jake said the stock lugs dont seat correctly with "tuner" wheels. I need to run a cone seat as evidenced by the link I posted earlier. No need to extend the studs as their length is fine, it is just that the McGuards I bought are to long. Going to check Advanced Auto to see if they have any short lugs in stock because I have a giftcard there. If not I will be ordering the ones above. These brand new lugs that I cant use are for sale btw. Re: Lug Nuts - Mike - 06-06-2011 You're going to want open-ended lugnuts. They are the correct size (M12x1.50) but I am unsure of the 60 degree measurement. Re: Lug Nuts - Mike - 06-07-2011 look like it. |
