any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - BLINGMW - 04-28-2011 I was going to try to replace all my gauges, but it'd be $800+ and that's kind of silly. Koso, Veypor make moto stuff that would "work", but they seem too cheap, and of course would look kind of silly. Before I order this: does anyone know of a smaller solution? I "need" reliable water temp, oil pressure. Would like an additional temp or two as well, such as exterior, maybe oil, intake, who knows. I would think something square, flat, with a little display like this would exist: ![]() ![]() but I cannot find such a thing that does all I want. Not as easy to read, sure, but with idiot lights for when things get out of range idealy, and I'd be able to put it right in front of the gauges without it getting in the way. Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - Kaan - 04-28-2011 i dunno, i've always like the double digit set up. i havent looked much past that. there are a couple of the datalogger screens that will do temps and stuff for you... but they are WAY more then the gauges youa re looking at. Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - Evan - 04-28-2011 if the car has obd2 you could get a scangauge (Assuming your stock senders all work) Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - BLINGMW - 04-28-2011 Evan Wrote:if the car has obd2 you could get a scangauge I'll double check but I don't think it does.... would it be next to the mechanical distributor? Maybe the carburetor? Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - Kaan - 04-28-2011 at that rate why not just get a billion mechanical autometer gauges? Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - ViPER1313 - 04-28-2011 Check out Prosport's gauges... I would just mount them low if you don't want them to clutter the dash. Most of them have programmable audible alarms so they don't need to be right in your line of sight. Pretty reasonably priced too. EDIT: Their premium line of gauges allow for external warning lamps too, if you want to mount some LEDs in the dash... Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-28-2011 ^^^ The audible alarms are loud enough even in the race ka to hear on track, plus they flash so its really hard to miss. Maybe the carburetor? It's right under and to the left of the steam manifold. I'm sure there's an adapter for this to OBD2:
Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - ScottyB - 04-28-2011 yeah, looks like the CANBUS hookup is pointed out by that #2 arrow. nice! Re: any other temp / pressure gauges you guys know of? - xvxax - 04-29-2011 Allow me to fanboy for a second: For the 1970s, that diagnostic port thing is pretty cool. Do any other companies make split gauges like that? iDef comes to mind, but I might be thinking incorrectly and those are $$$ too. If I remember correctly the split gauges are less expensive than two moderately priced gauges. Maybe you could modify these to work: http://rallyroad.net/catalog/51 |
