2002 Yamaha YZF600R Re-Assembly - ViPER1313 - 03-11-2011 This is a long shot, but I know that a lot of people here own / work on bikes. I don't know if anyone on here has ever owned or worked on a YZF600R in particular (or anything similar from Yamaha). There is an air hose (labeled as the Carburator vent tube?? or something similar by the manual) that runs from the front left ferring air box to **somewhere**, and has a T fitting in the middle that runs to a clear check tank that sits below the motor/left side ferring and has a valve on the end of it to allow you to clear gunk that has accumulated out of the check tank. For the life of me, I can't figure out where the end of that vent hose (running into the engine bay) is supposed to re-attach to. I don't see any breather nipples, etc on the carbs or block. The bike seems to run fine with it unattached to anything :dunno: Anyone have a clue here? Re: 2002 Yamaha YZF600R Re-Assembly - ViPER1313 - 03-11-2011 ![]() The part in question is #3 / #4 / #5 - the hose coming off of pipe joint #5 is what I am referring to. I guess it's just supposed to vent to atmosphere :dunno: Re: 2002 Yamaha YZF600R Re-Assembly - .RJ - 03-14-2011 Paging Kaan.... If it is supposed to be attached to something, then dont leave it hanging. I'll look more at this later today. Re: 2002 Yamaha YZF600R Re-Assembly - Kaan - 05-20-2011 ha! i missed this... did you work this out? i can come do it but i probably cant explain it. i've got a carb pull and clean down to about 15 minutes on my bike
Re: 2002 Yamaha YZF600R Re-Assembly - ViPER1313 - 05-20-2011 :dunno: We just left the #5 part of the bottom picture vented to atmosphere - I thought that was how it was supposed to go. Bike seems fine :dunno: |
