For those of you needing 225/45/17 R-comps, tire rack has a great price on the V710s.

Sure, they're from a 2008 production with the square shoulders but for $79 a pop, why the hell not? I was budgeting myself about that much for used R-comps.

Glad the 245s are finally sold out- I was very tempted for a while but just couldnt justify with almost new Star Specs

Dont think these would hold up very well on track, unless somebody knows something different than I?

From what I've read in the past, they're very sticky for the first weekend or so but tend to drop off after that making them a good DE tire. I've never driven with V710s though so I can't say for sure.

they were the fastest tire for a while... until they started to come apart!

once they fixed the issue... they might not have been so fast. but they were a good tire 5 years ago Wink

The V710's are a really good autocross tire, not sure about DE's or any track stuff though. My brother ran them on his E-stock Miata and there were some days this summer where we had to spray them with water by the 3rd run. They're a softer compound than the roadcourse/track tire the V700 (V710 treadwear was 30 on my brother's tires). If you're looking for a really good autocross slick that will last a full season or more these are the ticket. Hoosiers are better but short lived and pricey...especially compared to unused V710's going for $79 each....
