A Children's book: Fropplelee - ScottyB - 12-04-2010 Some of you may have seen this already but I thought I'd post this here since we have some club members with lil' ones. My old JMU roomate and I have worked over the past year on this book, and it's finally done. He's an English major and a talented story teller, and has put together a pretty neat little tale about a group of magical creatures on an island called Fropplelee. It's about 40 pages and a little more than half are illustrated in watercolor, which is where I came in. The language is about right for a 2nd or 3rd grade reading level but younger kids would probably love to read along with their parents. ![]() I can't offer any discount for MM'ers unfortunately, but we'll certainly sign the book for you and include a Fropplelee bookmark. We will ship out all books around the 7-10th so there will be time to wrap or ship before Christmas. Any support is appreciated, even if it means just mentioning it to a friend. Thanks so much, we're very grateful for the response we've received and continue to receive! you can order here: www.hanlongoldthreadpublishing.com *you will be forwarded to Amazon for secure checkout.* Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - Jewels - 12-04-2010 Ordered 2 for the Nephews, I think they'll be pretty pleased. All love to read, or be read too. Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - ScottyB - 12-05-2010 thanks so much Julie, i hope your nephews like 'em! Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - Evan - 12-07-2010 Ordered one for my brand new nephew born last week. Will be a couple years until he can enjoy it of course. If you could sign it to Elliot that would be extra rad. Double rad would be a little drawering of ET next to that. ![]() Eeeeellioooot.... Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - Steve85 - 12-13-2010 Just placed my order for two, one for my boys and one to donate to their school library, if that's OK with you guys. If not, I can find a home for it without a problem. Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - Steve85 - 12-13-2010 OK cool! Am I too late for an autograph in one to "Michael and Joey" ? I missed the pre-order offer but it never hurts to ask I guess. Even it's just one of you... Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - ScottyB - 12-13-2010 Steve85 Wrote:OK cool! nah, we'll get you taken care of
Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - Mike - 12-15-2010 scotty, can i get signed too!? no worries if too late. 1) katie and emily 2) adalyn Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - ScottyB - 12-15-2010 Mike Wrote:scotty, can i get signed too!? no worries if too late. Mike, we sent yours out last Friday, sorry! Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - BLINGMW - 12-15-2010 Just got ours in the mail, they look great! Impressive job  I have to say though, I didn't find it a very challenging read, is this a childrens' book? Good thing I got four copies, cause I can knock one out in like, 10 minutes. :dunno: Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - ScottyB - 12-15-2010 lol don't worry, we're thinking about a pop-up edition that should add at least 20 minutes to that time if you move the parts and make the appropriate noises. Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - Evan - 12-20-2010 odd, I havent gotten mine yet Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - ScottyB - 12-20-2010 really sorry about those that haven't come in yet. for whatever reason the USPS is being really random...some people in NY and even further north have gotten books, but many in DC have not? Please let me know if you need them immediately to ship out to others and I'll try to overnight you however many you need free of charge. i'm hoping they arrive tomorrow - we didn't expect the USPS to lag behind like this considering the estimate they told us. Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - Steve85 - 12-20-2010 I got ours today, looks good! BTW, good story, kind of Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer like and it will be perfect for my kids. They will be able to read a lot of it but it will be a challenge at times and they will learn new words. The artwork is great Scott. It is a very visual book with the kind of story kids (of all ages) like. I see myself reading this with them a lot at their request. Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - TorinoCobra070 - 12-22-2010 Hmmm there aren't any young kids in my family, but maybe I can get my the elementary school my mom works at to order some. I'm not sure how that process really works but I'll mention it to her. Re: A Children's book: Fropplelee - ScottyB - 12-23-2010 Steve, great to hear you got it and thanks for the kind words. Chad, much appreciate the thought and i believe its a pretty straightforward process - as i understand you can simply ask the library and they will look into aquiring the book either through purchasing or borrowing from another library. any exposure we can get through library requests is awesome  |
