Cool but pointless motorsports gift for the wealthy! - WRXtranceformed - 11-28-2010

Saw this while I was shopping for a new watch at the Seiko outlet in Leesburg over the weekend.

There was a 30% off sign above it

So I asked the manager what in fact it was besides a really ugly expensive watch, and he said that Seiko used to sponsor the Honda F1 team. The watch was designed to commemorate that partnership and was shaped like the gauge cluster in the F1 car. The gear next to it is an actual gear from the gearbox of one of the F1 cars. I thought that was pretty cool!

Round gauges in a F1 car? Unless that watch has been sitting on the shelf for decades...

Thats what the sales guy told me anyway...did the old school F1 cars have round gauges?

Lulz. The manager at the Seiko outlet sounds like a used car salesmen...

Yeah he was talking out of his ass. To find round gauges in F1 you'd have to go back a few decades.

And really, they should be taking more than 30% off for a F1 watch from a team that ceased to exist 2 years ago.
