Anyone used priceline name your price? - HAULN-SS - 10-19-2010

Im thinking about using priceline to go on a last minute-ish flight overseas. Has anyone ever used the name your own price feature before?

How likely am I to get effed? How low can I expect to find a ticket? Prices right now are averaging 1200$, which was a jump over 300$ from just a few days ago!

I am also unsure about how their flexible flgiht times schedule works. The place I want to go is 7 hours ahead. In other words, at midnight on the 1st here, it is 7am on the 2nd there.

I want to leave on a friday, and be back home by the Sunday a week later. When I punch in the dates of 11/5/2010 and 11/14/2010 what are my possible arrival days there, and most importantly, getting back. According to their site for international stuff, you may arrive the next day, whcih is fine, because it's about a 17 hour trip, but for the return, does this mean I may not get back until that Monday?

I tried that once before and didnt like how it was soo flexible with the dates. I just suck it up and pay knowing that I wont get effed in the ass. Depends on how much you get paid, but I probably get paid less than you, and a couple hundred dollars to make sure your not missing a day at work is sometimes worth it, (if you get paid out vacation at the end of your term)

Well, i was less concerned with the pay, and more with the fact that since I just started this new job I havent accumulated enough vacation yet to really just blow off not showing up one day.

The only good part about it, is that it says that for international flights that the max amount of stops is one, which is better anyway, and thats really the only option for where i'd go.

I think maybe it is ok, because to get back here on a sunday means leaving there on Saturday..and if you're booking one way flights, the latest flgiht there leaaves at 10:50pm on Saturday putting me back here on Sunday sometime
