Detecting DME Map Changes - Apoc - 09-19-2010

Is anyone aware of a device you can install in a car/DME that can detect and report if a map has been changed? Due to HP limits, the main concern of people racing in 944 Cup is that people change maps during the race and then change back for the dyno pulls. Cars are inspected for telltale signs of such devices, but there's still a chance people are outsmarting the inspections. Ideally it would monitor output/status throughout the course of a race and could then be checked after the fact to see if people are pulling the switcheroo. A lot of people know a lot more about car electronics than I do in here, so I figured I'd ask.

I've never heard of a device, but in theory you could run a datalogging session on each car in the race and compare what you've found to the dyno pulls. Changing maps in some cars is so easy though.
