All you can eat Steak dinner! - Jewels - 05-31-2010
I know most of you have already left Harrisonburg, but I thought I'd put this up here anyway in case some of you wanted to ride down on Saturday.
Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren is having an All you can eat steak dinner on Saturday June 5 from 3:30-7:00. For $14 you get All you can eat steak, green beans, baked potato, cole slaw, and some desserts. The tickets are all in advance so they know how much to actually cook. So we'll need to know by like Wednesday. The steaks have been marinating since this weekend and everything sounds wonderful.
This is Rex's dad's church, and all the proceeds go to helping a church in Haiti rebuild. They are working to get the Pastor of the Haiti church to attend the dinner, since he'll be stateside for a conference. So, Rex, myself, and Kaan are riding down on Saturday afternoon, so if anybody wants to follow us or something that's cool. If you can't come, well you can't come, but I know everyone showed interest in wanting to help Haiti but didn't know what they could do. And I know you guys love to eat, so I thought I'd offer it. If this dinner goes well, they'll be having another, I suggested during the school year so maybe we could get some college kids to come out.

I just had an all you can eat steak dinner at a resort in WV. It had the exact same food spread as yours, with the addition of fried chicken and bbq chicken. About the same price too...all I can say is you college kids need to jump on it. It was so phenomenal! If I was closer I'd come up for it

Gah, of course this is the one weekend during Maymester that I'll be out of town! Otherwise, I'd definitely be in. If they do one during the school year, I'm there.

Pastor Eddie will definitely be there, so it'd be a good opportunity to hear from someone who really knows the situation down there. Also, uh, 14 dollar all you can eat steak.
I saw them this weekend. 400 lbs of sirloin, seasoned and marinating as we speak. To be grilled over a hot charcoal fire.

Ok guys. I posted something in the Test N tune thread but I'll post it here too. Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren is doing the All you can eat Steak dinner again. I'll get the times for sure but I think its like 4-7 or something like that. You get Steak, Baked Potato, Salad, Dessert and Drink. The proceeds go straight to Haiti, as we support an orphanage there. Food's good. Steaks start marinating tonight. I've already set aside tickets for DJ, all I need is a rough headcount. All tickets are presold, but I can get them set aside and you can pay at the door. I just need to know how many. It is $14 a person.

This dinner is from 4-7:30 on Saturday March 19. At Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren, 2788 Taylor Springs Road, Harrisonburg, VA. I have saved tickets for myself, Rex, DJ, Cassie. I will need to know, no later than Thursday if anyone else is coming. The tickets are $14.

trying to see if i can make this work. is it show up anytime between 4 and 7 or do I need to be there close to 4 to get a seat and a steak?
would showing up a little dirty and smelly be frowned upon?

I don't think anything will be frowned upon. You can show up anytime and get steak. People will come and go. We'll put up more tables if need be. I'll put a ticket back for you. Even if you can't make it, no worries. But I'll put it back never the less.
