- ScottyB - 08-24-2004 that may seriously be one of the cleanest, hottest looking dubs i've seen in a long long time. i LOVE dark colors on hatches...is that a custom mixed color (it doesnt look familiar to anything i've seen on the streets) ?can we get some more details on the swap and what not if you are ok with that? please come out to a few meetings man, it would be great to hang out with you and see your ride 8) - Ryan T - 08-24-2004 looks good man, I like that color a lot. Why'd you change rims? - Chris - 08-24-2004 hot! I bet thats pretty damn quick... - Feersty - 08-24-2004 That is a lot of money dude, I don't know how you do it. - BLAIR - 08-24-2004 to answer some ?'s the color is a 04 nissan truck color. ( canteen green D13) it has alot of gold and green pearl along with metalic. in the sun it looks very light almost goldish and in the shade its dark green. The swap was fairly straight forward. i bought a totalled 98 jetta GLX with 65k miles and used everything from that car for the swap. ( engine, trans, wireing, brakes, gas tank, cluster, etc etc) While the motor was out i installed a new clutch and quaife LSD, along with new timing chain tensioners and all the other gaskets and tune up parts. removed the A/C completely, amd a ecu chip, intake system and exhaust. Pulled the old 4 banger out, cleaned and stripped the engine bay and painted it while there was no motor. The motor swap itself went pretty easy and was done in my garage by myself and some freinds. Then i collected parts and drove nonstop to south texas to get the car painted just 2 days after having the swap running. The car was completely stripped of all body panels, glass, interior, EVERYTHING. the car was painted inside and out. your not going to find any yellow anywhere. Other mods done to car are stainless brake lines, 15 bbs wheels with Axenis tires, autotech hollow sway bars, and h and r ultra low coilovers Jetta front end with smoked lights, and smooth topped euro bumpers think thats about it.. so basically thats what i did all summer with the motor and body. - BLAIR - 08-24-2004 didnt keep the OZ wheels because all 4 cylinder VW's are 4 by 100 lug pattern, I switched to VR6 11.3 inch brakes with a 5 by 100 pattern so i had to ditch the wheels. These BBS witht he axenis will hopefully just be my track setup and when i can afford something i will get other wheels or something? I have 03 Porsche gt3 seats for the car needed to be installed. but i may sell them cause i need money - Sijray21 - 08-24-2004 wow dude, dedication, that's a whole lot of work and money for the ride. Nicely done. I'm still in shock with how much you've transformed it....that word is an understatement. - Feersty - 08-24-2004 Great work Blair, that is sick. I commend your hard work. - ScottyB - 08-24-2004 non stop drive to texas?! for paint? that's when you know you love your car. - BLAIR - 08-24-2004 26 hours and 1700 miles one way with only stops for gas. it sucked, i dont recomend it - JackoliciousLegs - 08-24-2004 nice job man... come out for the meetings! - Mike - 08-24-2004 Feersty Wrote:That is a lot of money dude, I don't know how you do it. :?: - BLAIR - 08-24-2004 im a big time drug dealer... BLING BLING no its just money i have had saved up for a while.. this was all stuff i had been planning for a while. I worked full time for 2 years and didnt go to school so i still have money from that. i also get good deals on parts and such. all labor is done by myself so no labor costs at all. deff. not one of those mommy and daddy funded projects... this is all my hard earned money i have 300 bucks to my name after finishing the car..so no more goodies.. time to job hunt.. anyone got any ideas for jobs around here? - Feersty - 08-24-2004 I see. - Dave - 08-25-2004 BRAVO! Very impressive and clean looking transformation. How bout some interior pics for us? Did you hit any major glitches at any time? |
