Officially Official: Saturn's dead. - Goodspeed - 09-30-2009

Actually kinda saddened by this one. Given that they were essentially an experiment from the beginning, they were always kind of innovative, they taught GM how to sell cars and make a better product. Definitely not one of those "deserving" brands, IMO.

Re: Officially Official: Saturn's dead. - BLINGMW - 10-01-2009

A completely unnecessary brand now IMHO. Saturns used to be fairly different than the rest of the line, now they're all just rebadged, reskinned versions of something else. A good call.

I was definitely an opponent of the GM "sell the same car under 4 brands" mindset, and I agree with you that Saturn's were "just rebadged, reskinned versions of something else" but at least recently some of them were rebadged versions of stuff we don't normally get HERE. I'm ok with GM rebadging a Vauxhall as a Saturn.

Good point. But couldn't they just rebadge the same Vauxhall as a GM or one of their other brands if it's selling well? Then they don't have to drag around and promote another brand.

Re: Officially Official: Saturn's dead. - REED - 10-01-2009

yeah I see your point there - no need to have another entire brand just to import cars under.

Thats a targa Sky, not a hardtop.

Re: Officially Official: Saturn's dead. - BLINGMW - 10-02-2009

I dunno, the front of that sky never did anything for me, the Pontiac looks much cleaner. :dunno:

Anyway, they clearly made the right decision, obviously it didn't look nice enough that anyone here bought one Tongue

^ Ban him.

Re: Officially Official: Saturn's dead. - JustinG - 10-02-2009

the solstice looks like a frog....and now that I have said that you will never be able to look at a solstice without seeing the face of a frog
