NASA November Summit Point - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-16-2009 Registration is now open for NASA-MA's Fall Finale 'HPDE & TT only" weekend at Summit Point on Nov 7-8. A Hyperdrive and touring laps for charity will be offered as well, but there will be no roadracing: https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/925 Registration is also now open for the 90min kart enduro that Saturday night @ SPK washington circuit: https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/924 Event page is now up as well: http://www.nasaracing.net/Summit_Nov_09/event.htm I will be HPDEing this event if anyone would like to join. This is a perfect opportunity for those old and new. No racing will be going on this weekend so tons of HPDE time that will most likely not be invaded by race cars crashing cuz they wont be there! I will most likely also be doing the kart enduro, and if youve never driven SPK karts, your missing out big time!!! Also, for those interested in road racing, they have Hyperdrives which are easy sessions on track, only cost 50 bucks but are worth every penny!!! Itll be a cool november day so you most likely will not have to worry about cooling for you car, and one HPDE session wont do that much harm to brakes/tires. So if youve been eyeing doing a track event, try a hyper-drive! Re: NASA November Summit Point - Jewels - 09-16-2009 I agree with DJ, hyperdrives are a really great way to get on track if you just want a taste. This sounds like its going to be a great event. I know Jon Felton is in charge of it and I think he runs a great program. We are still maybe tossing around the idea of nephews to help them learn how to be car guys. Rex's brother is about as far from a car guy as you can get. Re: NASA November Summit Point - Jake - 09-16-2009 Hyperdrive could be fun... is there still that rollbar requirement for convertibles though? Re: NASA November Summit Point - NTIman - 09-16-2009 Hopefully I'll be in Winchester that weekend. If so I'll be there taking some photos and generally screwing off. Re: NASA November Summit Point - getfast - 09-17-2009 Jewels Wrote:I know Jon Felton is in charge of it and I think he runs a great program. Awww thanks! It's going to be a fun weekend for sure. First of its kind with NASA-MA. Most of the usual suspects will be in attendance so it will feel very much the same, just with no racing, and 96 minutes of track time per group per day  Re: NASA November Summit Point - Maengelito - 09-17-2009 Jake Wrote:Hyperdrive could be fun... is there still that rollbar requirement for convertibles though? yeah, you need a rollbar. It should be first on your list, Jake! Re: NASA November Summit Point - Jake - 09-17-2009 Maengelito Wrote:yeah, you need a rollbar. It should be first on your list, Jake! My only concern is how to fit a 6' 2" me plus helmet in the stock seat and get the top of the helmet 2 inches below the rollbar. The fact that my car is a DD makes me really not inclined to replace the driver's seat with something different. Plus, that all costs money which is lacking at the moment... Re: NASA November Summit Point - Maengelito - 09-17-2009 Foamectomy? But yeah, I understand, its a veeeeerrrrrry slippery slope once the rollbar goes in. Re: NASA November Summit Point - Mike - 09-17-2009 you heard it here. mikey will be there at some point over this weekend barring family emergencies. i doubt i'll actually be in the event, but hopefully i'll be able to talk my way into a lap or two to shake the pile down (hayyyyy jonnnnn!). two years off the track, lots of wrench turning, and not many street miles have me a bit leery of committing to a full weekend. let's try to get a lot of students and alumni out to this event... Re: NASA November Summit Point - getfast - 09-17-2009 Mike Wrote:i doubt i'll actually be in the event, but hopefully i'll be able to talk my way into a lap or two to shake the pile down (hayyyyy jonnnnn!). I only accept gold nuggets. Maybe denver nuggets. Whatever ya got on ya. Chicken nuggets. ( http://www.homestarrunner.com/vcr_sb.html ) Seriously, I think we can figure that out. Just make sure your pile will pass tech  Re: NASA November Summit Point - xvxax - 09-17-2009 Must.... resist.... Re: NASA November Summit Point - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-18-2009 Give in...to the temptation.....Cheap...lots of track time...MM buddies....Summit...only an hour away... Re: NASA November Summit Point - Steve85 - 09-18-2009 I think I'll sign up and decide which car to run when it gets close. I'm in a similar situation as Mike with regard to the Vette. I guess if the vette's not working out I can go home and grab the DD for day two or something. Re: NASA November Summit Point - Maengelito - 10-08-2009 Just signed up to instruct. Will Track Santa come this year? Re: NASA November Summit Point - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-08-2009 If track santa comes, does he bear gifts of his head spotlight on unsuspecting couples? lol Re: NASA November Summit Point - getfast - 10-17-2009 Entry list so far is up, plenty of spots left: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=taZ7RLMcaRCcbstXWrQ6B8A&output=html Re: NASA November Summit Point - Maengelito - 10-19-2009 aaaaand it doesn't look like Track Santa will make it out this year. There probably isn't enough time to turn three bolts on his sleigh. Re: NASA November Summit Point - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-19-2009 I got a lot to get done before this event, hopefully...good lord.. Mike you selling your pro2000s? I could use a set, I gotta buy a set this week to make sure I can get them to me and in by this event. Re: NASA November Summit Point - SlimKlim - 10-19-2009 Whats hyperdrive and how much does it cost? Re: NASA November Summit Point - SlimKlim - 10-19-2009 Oh wait, just found it. Hmmmmmm might have to do this.
