its got cams, pistons, carbs tuned (but need to be cleaned), ohlins front cartridges, Fox rear shock, rear sets, full Akra exhaust, etc etc etc. Smile

to do:
Headlight
Fairingstay
wire in the LED tail light and license plate light
make a license plate bracket.
and find a kick stand!

oh these pictures make it look good... you have no idea...

the body work is going to get redone... i'm going to just use race plastics, they are easier to find. They make "race" uppers with the headlight cut out already... so thats the direction i'm going to go.

Re: The new ride - Sijray21 - 09-03-2009

does it come with street plastics or are you going to create a headlight system/buy street plastics?

mmm...full akra...mmmm

Re: The new ride - Kaan - 09-03-2009

well if i get too cheap i'm just gonig to cut the track plastics and mount the stock headlight in there with the stock fairing stay. Wink

but they do make "track" plastics... that have "street" uppers

Re: The new ride - stevegula - 09-03-2009

i know someone who has a 99 R6 and is looking to sell it. Crank is broken so he's not looking for much money.. in case you're looking for a parts bike.

Re: The new ride - Kaan - 09-15-2009

ok.... i've been making some progress... just waiting on a kick stand and some nuts and bolts... but i'm hitting a snag when it comes to the damn headlights working.

its either the left side controls i got off ebay... OR its the resistors up front. any idea how to check all this crap? my tail lights work though... thats good.

Grab a battery and hook it straight up to the resistors.

If the headlight comes on, boom you know its the controls, if its not working, its the resistors or something else and I would then bypass the resistors and put the battery straight to the headlights just past the wiring. Just basically go down the line till it starts working, then go back one step and theres your problem.

If you want any help let me know, I work in Reston Town Center and get out around 6-6:30 so I can stop by.

Re: The new ride - ViPER1313 - 09-15-2009

Did you check the actual headlight bulbs?

Re: The new ride - Kaan - 09-15-2009

ViPER1313 Wrote:Did you check the actual headlight bulbs?

both were BRAND new and handled with care Wink i HATE paying $50 a bulb...

Re: The new ride - Kaan - 10-21-2009

The left hand headlight switch was bad... headlights sorta work now Wink i just dont have high beams.

big thanks to RJ for cleaning carbs and shit....

Carbs go on tonight and I'll finish moding the front fairing to fit the headlights... and i just need to mount and wire the tail light. I'm hoping a short shake down ride to work on friday... and then i'll really shake it down on the way to the meet and greet.
