Expensive mistake - fiveoh2go - 08-17-2009 Sure, you can buy the car but the skill needed to drive it can't be....... http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/ferrari-250tr-crash-at-the-monterey-historics/#2 Re: Expensive mistake - Goodspeed - 08-17-2009 Usually I would cringe, but in this instance I think thats badass. +10 to that guy for having the guts to actually track the car. It can be fixed, and even though that'll knock off a mil or two, pampering and worrying about its inflated value was never what it was meant for in the first place. Re: Expensive mistake - Steve85 - 08-17-2009 A guy in AZ who owns a $3M Cuda said about driving it..."It's actually quite liberating, you can't total it. It's worth more than the cost of any repair" I suppose that goes for a Ferrari of this pedigree as well. Re: Expensive mistake - fiveoh2go - 08-17-2009 Agreed. It's just that the level at which some play on is ridiculous. Re: Expensive mistake - Steve85 - 08-17-2009 Think of it on a relative basis...The beads of sweat when putting for $100K Championship are the smaller than the beads when putting for $10 with only $5 in your pocket. Replace "putting" with "negotiating a tough corner". But yeah, some people do have a lot of money. Re: Expensive mistake - Evan - 08-17-2009 a lot of those owners hire drivers to drive their vintage cars. that guys body language in the last frame says to me "oh shit oh shit I have to explain this to the owner" especially considering there wasnt much damage. a filthy rich guy driving his own car would probably more have the attitude "hahah that was a fun ride" besides, that car is IMO the ugliest of all vintage ferraris. (and I love me some vintage ferraris) |
