just curious, i know we had spoken about it before the semester ended but has there been an progress on this front or are we looking for someone to step up and do the leg work?

I live in Richmond, there are actually a couple of options for drag racing here.. If there's a big enough interest in it I'm sure I can do the dirty work and plan something for club..

That would be awesome Cabell! I'd definitely go and see just how fast my under-hood gerbils can run. If you find a few weekends or Fridays where it happens, we can add it to the fall schedule.

Yes definitely a Friday night would be awesome. Natural bridge is an 1/8 and is probably not even an hour away if some people dont feel like going to MIR or all the way to Richmond. I might have to get the bike out since the wrx seems slow now

Seriously, the 1/8 mile tracks around here are s#*t holes and I'm not saying that just because they're 1/8 mile, they're just really old and run down. Most of them used to be 1/4 mile tracks back in the day, but the cars kept getting faster and they didn't have the adequate shutdown area required for higher speeds so most went to 1/8 mile because of that and for insurance purposes.
MIR and VMP are the only decent places that are somewhat close, and they are both 1/4 mile tracks.

They might be, I don't really know. I was just throwing it out there since its kinda hard to get some people to drive a long way. Especially if we want to try to get some new members out to an event.
MIR was really nice and I usually run at Shelor even though it is an 1/8, it's one of the nicest in the area

Eastside in Waynesboro is pretty close, probably a 20-25 minute ride tops.

Mason-Dixon is a 1/4 mile track in Hagerstown, MD. Straight shot up 81 pretty much. I've been there a few times, pretty nice track.
