safety switch problem? - HAULN-SS - 06-05-2009

I think I have a problem on the bike. I will start it just fine, and it runs great too. However, sometimes, when I start it, and let it warm up so that the temp is anywhere from 110 - 140 depending on how long it's been sitting, i pull in the clutch, drop it into gear, and the damn thing dies. This doesnt seem to be happening during rides, just the first start-up of the day.
Does this sound like a bad clutch sensor or something to you? It's almost as if i drop it down itno first without pulling the clutch back, thats the kind of reaction i get..immediate engine stall. I thought it was an idle thing, so i've played with the choke a bit to move the idle around and it still dies. All i can figure is it mustbe some kind of electronic trickery going on

Check the sidestand switch or the starter relay - usually you cant have the bike running, in gear with the sidestand down.

That's what it was..thanks guys! The kickstand has to really be kind of pushed hard up into place for it to activate the switch I guess. This is also why I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start with the clutch in if it was already in gear (which I just thought was a safety thing)...but now it will.

I just come from riding *real* motorcycles that don't have so much electronic tomfoolery =)
