First Impressions: Audi RS4 - WRXtranceformed - 03-06-2009 Got my first ride in an RS4 today. The CEO of the company I'm working with that a friend of mine franchised took us out to lunch. He's pretty awesome, he's a total gearhead. Fit and finish inside was amazing. Tons of really high quality carbon fiber. Not the toned down shit that's all over my car. The exterior styling speaks for itself, although I will admit it is not as sexy on the exterior as the CFO's S8. He's not too worried about it though, the RS4 is going to be his beater since his 09 R8 is going to arrive in Indy next week  I've been in quite a few quick cars, definitely a few 400+hp ones but that car moves out. It was me, him and another 200+ pound guy and that car had instant torque and pretty startling upper rpm pull for a V8. We were coming up pretty quick on a red light and that thing came to a stop better than any car I've ever been in. I mean bone crushing stopping power with no drama for a bigass 4 door car. I've never really been sold on German cars at all, but I REALLY feel like if I ever had the means I would love to own one of those cars. The sound, the stability, the looks and the practicality make it such a solid daily driver. I mean it's no R8, but it's a sick ride. I'm HOPING to get a ride in the R8 if it gets here before I head back to Charlotte. Here are some pics of the RS4 and the S8 I took on my phone's camera. The RS4 ![]() The S8 ![]()
- ScottyB - 03-06-2009 sweet, i'm jealous! they are really capable cars considering their numbers on paper (weight, size, wt. distribution, etc). just as long as you don't have to service them, they'd be a great car to have  - WRXtranceformed - 03-07-2009 Agreed. That definitely felt like it had more than 420hp or whatever it is. Or maybe I've just been driving a sub-300hp car for too long. The S8 owner did say that if you get in an accident in that car it really sucks. There is apparently only one place in the entire country that is qualified to do body work on that car, so your car has to be shipped out to them and you're given an A8 loaner until they're done with it. - Mike - 03-07-2009 WRXtranceformed Wrote:The S8 owner did say that if you get in an accident in that car it really sucks. Body work isn't body work? Do they use fasteners, sheetmetal, ad plastic that the rest of Audi doesn't? - BLAIR - 03-07-2009 probably cause they are all aluminum? - Apoc - 03-07-2009 RS4 is pretty much my "real world" dream car... but that probably doesn't surprise anyone. - WRXtranceformed - 03-07-2009 BLAIR Wrote:probably cause they are all aluminum? Yep. - Maengelito - 03-07-2009 its a euro trash car, so its actually "alumanium" - V1GiLaNtE - 03-07-2009 Apoc Wrote:RS4 is pretty much my "real world" dream car... but that probably doesn't surprise anyone. I have to agree.. I really want a 06-07 RS4... Not to many people have Audi's and I think that an RS4 is by far one of the most practical/"go" EDD car's I can think of.. It says you have class and like performance without settling into a BMW like every other business world "douchebags".. - Apoc - 03-07-2009 V1GiLaNtE Wrote:It says you have class and like performance without settling into a BMW like every other business world "douchebags".. I've had both Audi and BMW... what's that say about me? - WRXtranceformed - 03-07-2009 2+2= - Feersty - 03-08-2009 I love them. So subtle, but so damn fast. - Ginger - 03-08-2009 WRXtranceformed Wrote:2+2= Remember, success is your enemy. If you have money, you've sold out
- Goodspeed - 03-08-2009 Apoc Wrote:I've had both Audi and BMW... what's that say about me? I think he's talking about people with a 330i who think they are hot shit and/or E46/92 M3 owners who have one for the badge and not the performance. Oh, and you're a douchebag. - V1GiLaNtE - 03-08-2009 Apoc Wrote:V1GiLaNtE Wrote:It says you have class and like performance without settling into a BMW like every other business world "douchebags".. It says you have taste... I'm referring to every guy who gets just out of college, has a decent job.. and like Goodspeed said buys a 330ci and drives around like he owns the world.. - Mike - 03-08-2009 Maengelito Wrote:its a euro trash car, so its actually "alumanium" aluminium. i came to the realization that every badass driving movie that takes place in europe uses audis... ronin transporter hitman i'm sure i'm missing a few. i need an audi. - WRXtranceformed - 03-08-2009 I'll post up some pics of the R8 when it gets here I think on Wed or Thursday. He ordered a custom carbon fiber steering wheel, had custom carbon fiber mirrors made and a fully customized interior from Audi. I dont think the mirrors or steering wheel will be installed yet. - Apoc - 03-08-2009 Goodspeed Wrote:Oh, and you're a douchebag. So? Chapin has one, does he have a M3 bodykit on his and drive around with girl-shades and a bluetooth headset? I don't think there is anything wrong with someone in a club with "motorsports" in the name owning a BMW. But outside of such, you can't deny the stigma a BMW has... |
