wow Hyundai...not bad...not bad at all - rezarxt - 02-12-2009 http://contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=41489 ![]() Wow that is pure sex. I had seen these cars a while back. But they just caught my eye again. They hit shelves around spring of 2009 as 2010 model. They come in. 3.8-liter V6 ÔÇó Est. horsepower V6: 306 @ 6,000 rpm (regular fuel) ÔÇó Est. horsepower V6: 310 @ 6,000 rpm (premium fuel) ÔÇó Est. torque V6: 263 lb. ft. @ 4,700 rpm (regular and premium fuel) 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo ÔÇó Est. horsepower 2.0t: 212 @ 6,000 rpm (regular fuel) ÔÇó Est. horsepower 2.0t: 223 @ 6,000 rpm (premium fuel) ÔÇó Est. torque 2.0t: 217 lb. ft. @ 2,500 rpm (regular and premium fuel) Also, the 2.0 turbo model, although it only has 220HP-225TQ stock, is on very low boost (10lbs or less), the FACTORY itself confirms that it is capable of holding at least 29lbs of boost on the stock turbo. I don't know if the stock turbo can put out that much though. The 2.0 motor is also the "World Motor." The World Motor family currently consists of the motor from the Evo X, and the Caliber SRT-4. Hyundai's rear-drive performance hopeful will weigh in at $22,000 for the base 210-hp 2.0L turbo model, and the 306-hp 3.8L V6 will start at $25,000. Tuner types and gearheads will probably be most interested in the newly announced mid-priced 2.0T R-Spec model ($23,750). Hyundai has chosen not to make the R-Spec a stripped-out lightweight performance model. As such, the model still includes things like the aforementioned six-speaker stereo, air-conditioning and remote keyless entry, but the 137-mph coupe also gets Hyundai's full compliment of performance hardware, including uprated Brembo brakes, stiffened suspension, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and 19-inch gunmetal alloys wrapped with summer tires. Im seriously considering one of these when I get back from this summer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_UN0cvX ... re=related Any idea what a turbo swap like that would cost? - JustinG - 02-12-2009 i thought they were throwin in the Sedan V8 as well. But regardless thats some sexy shit, and 10000000000000 mile warranty
- vpfinnersw - 02-12-2009 wow, I knew of the Genesis sedan with the V8 because numerous car magazines were comparing and testing it against Mercs and BMWs, but this is my first time seeing pics of the coupe. It looks good! Hyundai is really stepping up their game. Both those engine options are nice. But why such a conservative stock tune of 10psi for the 4 cyl turbo if they know it can handle more? If only the offered a combined option; 3.8l V6 turbo...I'd be all over that 8) - .RJ - 02-12-2009 ORLY? http://mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... ai+genesis - JustinG - 02-12-2009 10psi is for a reason. they will probably sell Factory/Warranty OK mods to up the boost and such. Just a way to make more money. - rezarxt - 02-12-2009 .RJ Wrote:ORLY? Yeah I thought I remember seeing that someone had post it on here. Thats why I looked. But i didnt notice it since it was posted in another thread. Can someone answer me about the GT30R turbo swap? What would that cost? Because the only way I would buy one is if I can get it to put down 350rwhp - vpfinnersw - 02-12-2009 .RJ Wrote:ORLY? really. - .RJ - 02-12-2009 $1200-1300 on ebay for just the snail. Why does it 'need' to put down 350 rwhp? - Kaan - 02-12-2009 .RJ Wrote:$1200-1300 on ebay for just the snail. why do you need new cameras and crap? - rezarxt - 02-12-2009 .RJ Wrote:$1200-1300 on ebay for just the snail. 350rwhp would be enough to keep me happy. I wouldnt want to go much beyond that. It would be my DD. - .RJ - 02-12-2009 Buy a bike  - Kaan - 02-12-2009 .RJ Wrote:Buy a bike  its not the answer for everyone... i mean look at Rob! ![]() sorry rob... i'll be nicer next time! - Evan - 02-12-2009 i like the car a lot. front end looks like its holding back a sneeze, but its growing on me. its a little big and chunky, but with any luck they will base a new tiburon off a shortened version of the rwd platform. cheaper and lighter, Id definately be interested. - WRXtranceformed - 02-12-2009 To make 350 reliable whp you're looking at probably 4-5 grand. I say that because that's quite a big power jump over stock. You're going to need turbo, IC, fuel injectors, pump, EM and a good tune... and since the stuff is coming out brand new you're probably looking at slight markups on everything aftermarket for that car. - Sijray21 - 02-12-2009 isn't 310 enough? all those specs are plenty to have fun and pass on the highway :-P i'm curious to see how i fit in the seats... - D_Eclipse9916 - 02-12-2009 WRXtranceformed Wrote:To make 350 reliable whp you're looking at probably 4-5 grand. If they possibly use the same turbos, pump, injectors..etc. then there ya go. - WRXtranceformed - 02-12-2009 I guess it depends on how much they beefed up the fuel system. If it's only pushing 10psi, there may be a reason for it. - rezarxt - 02-12-2009 WRXtranceformed Wrote:To make 350 reliable whp you're looking at probably 4-5 grand. Ouch. Yeah. That would put it out of my price range. I could just barely afford the base model. Unless I made payments on it. The last thing I want to do in college is make payments on a car. Although I probably could afford it. I dont want to put myself in that situation. - Mike - 02-13-2009 so we've been missing something that's rather important. the 2.0 weighs 3300lbs. that's a lot of weight for that power... the V6 is 3400, but has the power to cope. - BLAIR - 02-14-2009 wow.. its makes me sad to say this but those are pretty sick looking |
