I imagine it'll push battery technology along. Formula 1 has even more advanced aerodynamic knowledge than most sectors of military aviation so I wouldn't be surprised if they can really advance battery tech.
I just hope the full-line manufacturers with a vested interest in battery tech stay in Formula 1. That would mean basically Toyota and BMW. I can't imagine Ferrari or Mercedes really need it that much. Honestly this is the perfect tech for Honda to develop but they decided to fold. I'm still half expecting Toyota to do the same.
