Yes. I watched most of the ITA/ITS MARRS races at summit this year and AJ really set up shop - I think he'll do very well and hopefully I can go watch a couple of rounds of the series.

Lots of talent in this series, including Mark Pombo returning from last year. He would have won last year if not for getting run off the track. Should be very interesting.

congrats to AJ :-D

that's awesome to be selected to drive for a cup series!

I don't get it

If it's the Ryan Ellis I'm thinking of, he goes (or went) to my high school. Had an RX7 of some sort (maybe an FC?) and was pretty serious about the whole racing thing.

Good for them!

The all race with NASA and are moving up to a pro series b/c they've been scouted for their talent.

Think playing college ball and getting drafted into the pros...

Not exactly - you have to 'apply' to get into the TDI cup, and if they think you might be good enough there's a 3 day event that you go to where the select 30 drivers. And then you have to come up with $35k (I think) to run the series, plus additional costs (I think body damage isnt covered).

Money talks in pro racing - very, very few paid drivers out there. Most either bring a checkbook or sponsorship in.

go AJ!

Ive never been impressed with Ryan or Devin when Ive raced against them, but I bet AJ will do well.

- Ole - 02-09-2009

Both Ryan and Devin have matured in the past year and have turned into some very competitive drivers. Should be a good series. Pombo may have it locked up though. Still rooting for all these guys to do well.

there is a little Pombo?
