VW/AUDI owners: Got my hands on a VAG-COM for the next week - etienne426 - 01-29-2009

Borrowed it from some bloke in Broadway, it's the HEX+CAN cable that'll fit pretty much all VW/AUDIs 1990-2008.

Really useful tool, find out what fault codes (beyond typical OBDII scanners) your car is throwing, unlock cool hidden features, turn off annoying ones (such as seat belt chimes) etc etc.

Let me know if you could use this.

I really wish I could turn off the seatbelt chime on my Acura. Nobody drives in my car without a seatbelt but if I'm in and out of the car for like 20 seconds quite frequently it gets really annoying.

Short the sensor on the seatbelt clip then

There are so many damn electronic systems and sensors in this car I wouldn't want to purposely short out any of them haha Tongue

:?:

There's going to be a single plug in the seat belt buckle - when you clip your seatbelt in, it closes the circuit and the beeping goes off. You might have to take the seat out to get at it, but unplug it and short it - even a paper clip will do.

You might not even have to short it. I've had a couple cars that let you just unplug it and that's the end of it.

Hrmm i'll have to peep it tonight and see what it looks like. If I have to take out the seat it's a no go.

it's 4 bolts.
