My parents want a car. - Feersty - 08-08-2004

The Oldsmobile Ciera is on its last leg and my parents are about to buy a car for my 18 year old brother. The trade in the Ciera would be only $700. They want to get him a Civic coupe with automatic. It is just killing me though. Cause the jokers at Landmark Honda were asking $14,900 for a 2001 coupe. I was like man I could get a nice swapped hatch for that. Do you have any suggestions for them?

that's WAY overpriced....

check out the private vendors, i saw some really good deals in the EXPRESS paper that's free at the metro and the washington post as .RJ stated. What was their budget? What does ur brother want/need?

Something automatic that he can drive for his senior year. My mom also will use it once he goes on to college. They have a budget of $12,000. I suggested a 1999-2000 coupe, they look a lot better that 2001+.

if it's going to be a family car, i recommend an lx 4-door 99-00

the parts will be much easier to find for a 5 gen over a 6 gen, but i kinda like the look of the newer 6gen four doors

this is all if your going to go with a civic

...trying to think of other options to try to compare...

the 99-00 coupes are best though Wink

2003 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. AWD, Automatic, Decent fuel economy, four doors...You could pick one up for 12 or 13.

*thinks* What about a Camry? Lets also not forget about some Korean stuff. For 12 grand you can get auto, 10/100,000 warranty, and they've got some nice financing stuff lately.

And why aren't your parents going back to the General for a car? Cadaveliers will soon be pratically being given away to make room for the "new" Cobalt.
