FS: 1996 Audi A4 Quattro V6 - Sijray21 - 01-26-2009 Hey Guys, Selling for a friend (Scotty, you know him as, "The Box") and Scotty can also vouch for him - great guy. I saw this car not too long ago and it looks to be in great shape. He's selling it because he just got a deal on a much nicer car. The goodies on the car: borla exhaust, euro projector headlights, S4 grill, B&M short shifter, eibach springs, bilstein shocks, Borbet Type FS 18X 7's with new Sumitomo HTRZ2's on all corners ( 245/40/18 ). New timing belt, water pump, front seal, cam seals and all belts about 15K miles ago, but needs some other minor work. Contact him with the questions if you're interested - he's a gear head as well, so he can get into the technical details. 185k miles on the odo ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() asking $3500 obo contact jason.seybold@gmail.com if interested - Mike - 01-26-2009 wow, great looking car for that kind of mileage. i'm kind of tempted, but that thing has to be close to falling apart completely. what is "minor work needed"? - Sijray21 - 01-26-2009 Mike Wrote:what is "minor work needed"? i believe he mentioned a CV boot, wheel bearing, and the EGV stuck closed you can shoot him an email if you want, he's a real good guy to deal with not going to lie - i'm also tempted... - ScottyB - 01-27-2009 Mike Wrote:but that thing has to be close to falling apart completely not likely. the V6 A4's dont suffer from alot of the same issues that the 1.8T's do (bum sensors, crappy tensioners, oil sludge, shot turbos). in the A4 world they are tanks - that goes for both the 10v and 30v versions. this is a 10v version. there are plenty of older audis over 200k and running strong (at least that was my experience before i "left" the audi community a year ago) audi unibodies have very hard, thick paint and do not weather like japanese cars (subaru  ). the transmissions are also stout. the weak link would be suspension ball joints at this age but he may have done them...they are a once-every-100k thing and you basically ignore them until they make noise. the other big expenditure is the t-belt which is a once-every-60-70k operation but he's taken care of it. stuff like cv's and bearings suck but they aren't really weak points. when i killed my 1.8T i seriously considered jumping back in to a V6. they drive nice, look awesome and sound incredible. as a DD for 3500 its a nice car and i know the owner -- he's a nice guy, and a real gearhead. - Apoc - 01-27-2009 Mike Wrote:i'm kind of tempted Do it! Hard to believe that car is 12+ years old and (I think) the body style still looks relatively current. It might have something to do with the fact that I sold a similar just last year but whatever. - Ginger - 01-27-2009 I agree; I think they're pretty damn good looking cars. If I still needed a vehicle I'd probably buy this one
- .RJ - 01-27-2009 la la la i cant see this! *plugs eyes* - Apoc - 01-27-2009 Ironically, this just appeared on my picture frame at work.
- BLINGMW - 01-27-2009 that is probably the nicest looking $3500 car I've ever seen - Mike - 01-27-2009 caitlin kinda wants it... lol. - Mike - 01-27-2009 the scoop: nothing urgently needed. driver's side outer tie rod and driver's side cv boot need to be changed when it gets warm out. rear passenger side wheel bearing is making some noise. egr valve is getting stuck intermittently. since it's a quattro, it will be able to pass emissions as long as the cel is off. very very minor leak from a power steering line. he thinks it's just a clamp that has come loose. checking this weekend. i'm heading out west to test ride a bike on saturday so i'll hopefully fit this in as well (he's in sterling). - Apoc - 01-27-2009 Are the pictures old or the car just not streeted since Sep? Come say hi Mikey! - Sijray21 - 01-27-2009 the car looks identical to that in the pictures, i believe that was just before the inspection he ran. - Ole - 01-28-2009 Where is this car located? - Evan - 01-28-2009 you guys are falling all over each other for a 13 year old audi with 185k miles and ricer rimz? did you all forget to turn on your brains this morning? - Mike - 01-28-2009 Ole Wrote:Where is this car located? you're killing me, old man. Mike Wrote:(he's in sterling). - Ole - 01-30-2009 Mike Wrote:Ole Wrote:Where is this car located?
