Scam? - balactm - 01-12-2009 I sent a guy an email about a lexus is300 for sale on craigslist for 4500. he sent me this email in return: Hello, The car (2002 Lexus IS 300) is in absolutely perfect condition, no scratches, dings, dents or other imperfections. Never accidented, Always garaged. Clear title, no leans. I will accept $4,500 if you buy it now. It has only 57078 miles, 6 cylinder 3.0L and fully loaded. Firstly, I need to tell you that i am located in Anchorage, Alaska. I am selling the car urgently because my squadron has been sent back to Iraq and don't want it to get old in my garage. The price is low because I need to sell it before january 29th...I will take care of all transport arrangements. Usually shipment takes maximum 3 to 5 days depending on your location and will be fully insured against damages, shipped in a crated container.....on my cost!! I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 5 days testing period after delivery. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money. If you agree with my above terms, I'm sure that we can close the deal as soon as possible. I have reserved the car for you until I will have your final answer. - Sijray21 - 01-12-2009 haha, do you even have to ask? just tell him you want to see the vehicle and you're located close to wherever the vehicle is located and see what he says i love f-ing with scammers - balactm - 01-12-2009 yeah, i don't know why he was posting in the virginia craigslist when he lives in alaska... - Evan - 01-12-2009 Sijray21 Wrote:haha, do you even have to ask? - Hunter - 01-12-2009 Ask him if he ships to Nigeria. - balactm - 01-13-2009 bahaha. i asked him to ship to nigeria and he asked why. so i told him so that he could suffer more shipping costs during his scam and he responded: Fuck you. piece of shit. and i wanted to respond, "why because i'm not going to send money to someone so that you can not send me a car?" evidently someone already found out and called the fbi on craigslist on those particular people... - Evan - 01-13-2009 damn, I was hoping it was real. I was looking for a never accidented IS300 Re: Scam? - Dave - 06-24-2009 Think I got a scam email this morning for my NX on Craigslist. I want you to consider it sold, Pls do withdraw the advert from CL to avoid disturbance, anyways I don't have time to come over to take a look because of my Business but you don't need to bother yourself with the shipment, I'll take care of that by engaging the services of a mover, hence I'll be sending a Certified check and it will be delivered to you via United Parcel Service (UPS), so I'll need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check. Full name on the check. Full Physical address to post the check City, State and Zip Code Home & Cell Phone to contact you. Note that the payment will be shipped to your address via UPS NEXT DAY AIR SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping i will have my mover to come over as soon as you have cashed the check* N.B UPS does not deliver to a P.O box addresses. Thanks ------------- Subject: Re: 1993 Nissan NX2000 $2300 OBO - $2300 (Louisa) Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2009, 9:40 AM Okay, I'll be sure to take the ad down the next time I am home at my computer. I would hate to cause disturbance. I understand not having time to come check the car out; I am very flexible (I was once a gymnast) and will work with you as much as I can. It is good to know that your shipper is going to take care of all the hard work for me. Can they provide receipt that car is in good condition? Quick question: can you provide a different service for delivery of the money b/c unfortunately UPS does not service me anymore. The driver kept trying to have sex with my dog so I shot at him and now they won't deliver to me. I am not sure who was in the wrong in this situation; can you provide legal advice on this problem? I look forward to hearing back from you and hope we can complete this transaction smoothly! -Dave Re: Scam? - G.Irish - 06-24-2009 ^^^ Classic! ^^^   Re: Scam? - Ole - 06-24-2009 That was a great response  Re: Scam? - Goodspeed - 06-24-2009 Jesus...thats awesome. I mean really, isn't there a person with half a brain making these things that can actually spell and use proper sentence structure? Not to mention the lack of originality...the certified check/mover 'n shipper deal is getting a bit tired. Come on Nigerians, you've got to put more effort into these! Re: Scam? - ScottyB - 06-24-2009 haha nicely done! do not disturb the craigslist :dunno: its too bad you don't have a car you were trying to send to the junkyard. could have done a nice switcharoo when the "mover" showed up Re: Scam? - Goodspeed - 06-24-2009 Here's one I remembered I got a few weeks ago for my car on CL: Quote:Sounds Good I also got this stupid chain of emails that went something like this (with me assuming for the first few conversations that this could maybe possibly be a real person) Him: Is the car still for sale? Me: Yes, please let me know if you have any questions! Him: Wow! You're asking way to little! Me: No, I think its a very fair price for the condition and previous history Him: No way, its way underpriced! Check this website I used to see the real value! Me: That website stops at '95, mine is a '88. If its so undervalued, why don't you buy it? Him: But, its so underpriced! /end Re: Scam? - ViPER1313 - 06-24-2009 My favorite reply of all time (when selling the 1989 SHO, asking price $600) Thadcballa4life Wrote:i would love this car as a first car for my son but i dont have that kind of money right now we are goin through a rough patch i was wondering if you would take 425.53$ because that is all the money that he has and he wants to buy this car himself Re: Scam? - Ken - 06-25-2009 Quote:------------------------------- I got, literally, the exact same e-mail from someone when i was selling my head unit.
