Bachelor Party suggestions - JohnC - 01-09-2009 My little brother is getting married this summer, and we're trying to figure out how to send him off in style. I've had a few ideas, but would love to hear some more suggestions. The followings rules do (unfortunately) apply: 1) No strippers, strip clubs, hookers, etc... 2) DC-area, or possibly NYC-area 3) The night can end in a bar or club, but that shouldn't be the entire event The things I've thought of so far: 1) Caps game 2) Dave & Busters 3) AllSports - Apoc - 01-09-2009 Hang out at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. The city itself is a shithole but that area has some decent things to do during the day. You can eat lunch at Hooters (since you can't have strippers), drink a ton of beer, stumble to the Aquarium, hit up ESPN Zone and then hop in a cab to close the night bar hopping in Fells Point. Everything is walking distance or a short cab ride away so you don't have to worry about DD. My college buddies and I have done it a few times and it's a pretty solid way to celebrate. - WRXtranceformed - 01-09-2009 This sounds kind of ghetto but it's really fun. There are a couple of UNBELIEVABLE golf resorts in West Virginia. A group of guys and I every year go up around Mother's Day to Stonewall Resort (I think it's still 5 star rated) for a golf trip, but a few months ago we went back and did a bachelor party at another resort nearby. A few days of golfing, tons of booze, there are some nice bars / restaurants usually on the resort (Stonewall has an awesome one with a firepit). You can also rent houseboats (YES) or really nice cabins for everyone to crash in. I don't know if you guys play golf, but that's a good way to celebrate just a "guys" weekend like a bachelor party. The last time we were at Stonewall there was a bachelorette party just down the street from the cabin we stayed in and once we found them the entire weekend got off the hook. AND I know you don't want strip clubs for some reason, but there are strip clubs within short driving distance haha http://www.stonewallresort.com/?gclid=C ... nAodvjLADg Golf is about $100-$125 per round IIRC - WRXtranceformed - 01-09-2009 ^^ Just read through the website again, Stonewall is ranked #22 out of the top 100 resort courses in the US. We've tried a couple other resorts that have been nice but that is by far my best suggestion. - G.Irish - 01-09-2009 There are also firing ranges in the Nova area you could go to. Most of them are handgun only but some of those a little bit outside of the beltway allow rifles. Some of them do handgun rentals too. - CaptainHenreh - 01-09-2009 G.Irish Wrote:There are also firing ranges in the Nova area you could go to. The only one I know of that rents firearms is Blue Ridge, whom I choose not to frequent any longer. - G.Irish - 01-09-2009 There's a place in Springfield (Gilbert Range) that rents handguns (or so they say). - JohnC - 01-09-2009 We'll probably punt on the shooting range - we go shooting a lot anyway. Thanks for the suggestions though, keep 'em coming. If you've got some specific places you like in DC or wherever, I'd love to hear them. - CaptainHenreh - 01-09-2009 G.Irish Wrote:There's a place in Springfield (Gilbert Range) that rents handguns (or so they say). Interesting. The NRA doesn't have it listed. - Sijray21 - 01-11-2009 went to Atlantic City and gambled and played paintball for my buddy Greg's bachelor party. paintball was a lot of fun, i'd recommend that. and it was even in the cold and outside - JohnC - 01-11-2009 Sijray21 Wrote:paintball was a lot of fun, i'd recommend that. and it was even in the cold and outside Good idea. - Maengelito - 01-12-2009 is this just an overnight deal or a weekend deal? That could factor in at a lot of potential places. - Dragon - 01-12-2009 JohnC Wrote:PEVs and Hogback Mountain are in Leesburg if you decide to go with the paintball route. Both of them are pretty good places for it.Sijray21 Wrote:paintball was a lot of fun, i'd recommend that. and it was even in the cold and outside |
