Bought it back in November and Im really really enjoying it so far. The whole place (and I mean everything) has been renovated, everything is new (even the windows).Its a great location, in Falls Church right at the intersection of 495 and Rt 50 Behind Falls Church High school if you are familiar with the area. (RJ just got interested). I bought it for 100k under the Loan Appraisal, and $240k under the sale price in 2006 so I feel I got a good deal.
Obviously a 2 car garage which was a requirement, no HOA (although Ive already had a complaint about my trailer on the street of course!) and plenty of room for me and all my stuff.

Considering before me (and before the renovations) 12 mexicans lived in this house, I gaurantee you I am a big improvement to the neighborhood despite any (legal, registered, inspected) trailers I park on the street!

thanks for the congrats guys,
the basement is in fact finished, with carpet. I was going to turn into the home theater but for now the animals are down there along with the laundry room.
for now its just me. This is the first time in my life Ive lived by myself and Im really enjoying it so far. Im considering getting a roomate in the future, but that depends on budget etc.

I am... I joined the Board of my last HOA because they weren't doing enough to get our neighbors to stop parking on their lawn. Although I started to see your POV when I got the bill for this year's dues (up 50% in the last 3 years).
If you need help obsessing about a theater, let me know. I finally finished mine last year and there are A LOT of decisions to make.

Ill upload some later tonight. But it looks.... a lot like the inside of a 2 car garage
The walls are finished and painted which is nice. And the floor is painted which sucks since Ill have to strip it if I want to put expoxy down. (Ill probably just do a mat or tiles instead)

Definitely consider getting roommates. I lived alone for a while and loved it, but it really is nice having the free income coming in and is definitely worth the hassles you put up with. You could probably charge some good rent for that area as well.
