Finally got the car back from the shop and finished up installing the other stuff, New sound system...

MB Quart Reference 5.25's in the front and rear
8" JL woofer

Also added new 16/17 wheels with toyo r888s

And stuck a carbon fiber splitter in the front.

The previous owner had already installed HID's and an exhaust setup. Next on the list is getting some of the interior stuff painted and sticking a new exhaust setup on. Here and the pics...

a sub where the passengers feet go?

- HAULN-SS - 12-18-2008

So..be honest..that thing's a pain in the ass to have as a DD isn't it?

- navin - 12-18-2008

R888's to daily? More power to you!

Car looks awesome though!

Scott Wrote:a sub where the passengers feet go?

There wasnt really any other place to put it. It only takes up an extra 1" of leg room

My Dad has an extra beater that I have been using as a dd.
Not sure if I'm gonna take it back to school or not. Prolly just take the bus when the weathers bad. I tried driving when the road was wet yesterday and almost spun less than a mile down the road

was that with the fresh R888's? might want to scrub them in a bit before any rain exposure. that's a pretty extreme street tire.

- .RJ - 12-18-2008

The rain inst the problem as much as the cold - track tires wont work very well at all in winter temps.

- Evan - 12-18-2008

so when I need some drugs or hookers I can come to you, right? Wink

- Nis01 - 12-19-2008

Love the front lip. Looks like a really great fit on that car. Nice choice on speakers, I would love to get a nice setup into the miata but have given up on the idea everytime I look at the price tag.

Colin Chapman is spinning in his grave.

- JustinG - 12-19-2008

just gotta have that OONTZ......, car looks good, i was hoping youd go with the black wheels. Its the great pumpkin

- WRXtranceformed - 12-20-2008

Looks great man, very clean install all around! Yeah I'd be really careful with those tires on the street! I'd hate to see that thing wrapped around a pole!

- ultimagtrlover - 12-21-2008

Nice add-ons...those wheels are a royal pain to clean! I do suggest you look into the Arqray Single Tip. Whereas the stage 2 is loud (104 decibles at wot) and deep at all rpm ranges, the Arqray is quiet and civilized when you need it to be, and a bat out of hell insane when you open'her up.

- Madden - 12-22-2008

I'm either going with the arqray or the larini duals. Not sure yet.
I havent heard the arqray in person, but it sound real good in the clips I've listened to. I just love how the larini looks with the euro grills and high exits.

- ultimagtrlover - 12-22-2008

I'll be frank and say that I had a supercharged Elise with the stage 2 on it for more than a week. At the same time I had a ride in a stock Elise with the Arqray, and when we were driving around, in the back of my head all I could think of was "Where's the noise?" The arqray truly is quiet when you want it to be, but the stage 2 and it's obnoxious drone all the time reminds you that you are always driving something special. The stage 2 gave the car a querk I began to enjoy. Those larini duals look awesome I must say, but the sound will not be much different than stock, except with a louder note. The arqray under full acceleration is very unique...it has a very "open and windy" sound to it, almost like an old-school race european race car. The first time I got a ride in it I thought I was caught in a hurricane of sound. Keep in mind it's over $1,000.

I'd like to suggest a full mesh kit as well, as seen on this car:

- Madden - 12-22-2008

yeah I'm defineitely going for the mesh.
"kiawopilot" on lotus talk is developing a kit and I'm waiting to see what his looks like. I'm not sure about the side mesh though, you think I should go side mesh or reverie scoops?

- Madden - 12-31-2008

So here's my latest mod.
I blew out one of the lines on my drivers side oil cooler and its gonna cost $2500 to replace!!! Guess no more new goodies for a while

- Evan - 12-31-2008

that doesnt make much sense.

step 1: remove engine
?

how did you do that?

- Madden - 12-31-2008

apparently the factory was terrible at tightening the hoses the right way and caused some of them to leak and burst. I was backing the car out and noticed some oil on the ground. I found out that is was coming from one of the front oil coolers. Brought it in to Criswell lotus in MD and just got a call saying they need to replace it. They have to take the front clam off, and that costs $1200 in labor alone Sad
