No new NSX - Mike - 12-17-2008

Sad, but drastic forward thinking is what has made the Japanese automakers so successful IMO.

eh, it's been dead to me ever since they moved from the flip up headlights and then started talking about V8 or V10 for the next one.

Can't say that I'm really disappointed. Ever since Fukui directed the design team to make it a front-engined GT I've been sour on the whole idea. I suspect part of the reason it's taken so long and eventually got canceled is because making a big, heavy car with awd work right is a lot of work. The more weight you have the more stress on the suspension and drivetrain, which requires that you make beefier components that add more weight. Call it the GTR syndrome.

This really reflects poorly on Fukui. It was his idea to make the car that way and I think his change in design direction doomed this car. I was really excited when he took the reins as CEO but I've been really disappointed with his decisions more than once. No USDM CTR, no S2000 replacement yet, no NSX replacement, no Interceptor replacement, Acura still doesn't have an RWD offerings...the list goes on. I'm thinking he could be stepping down before long.

It's the Toyota Mediocrity PlanÔäó, I don't know why anyone is surprised.

i wasn't on the edge of my seat. I'm with Chan on the "advances." the spirit of the NSX died years ago.

Business is business.

My love for the NSX died long ago as well... Very little excitement for the new one from me.
