2010 Mustang Revealed - Mike - 11-19-2008 "Leaner and meaner" is what I'm reading everywhere. Looks kinda awkward IMO. http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-mustang-future.html - PDenbigh - 11-19-2008 Why do so many models (For all brands) get more boring as they progress through their lifecycle? - ScottyB - 11-19-2008 extremely anti-climactic after months of cutesy half-shadowed pictures of weird angles. and only a 15 horsepower bump? good luck fighting off the camaro V6, don't even try against the SS. - REED - 11-19-2008 ehhh I'm not a huge fan of any of the changes really and those wheels are God awful - WRXtranceformed - 11-19-2008 I like it better than the styling on the current gen. Imo it looks like it stole a lot of the changes to its line from the Camaro... especially in the front. It's weird how domestics are progressing toward retro looks and jap cars are going toward more futuristic and radical styling. I think the Germans and British are the only ones staying somewhat sensible with styling changes, but that's up for debate all day long. I also agree with Scotty that a 15hp bump is wayyy too anemic for this car. I wouldn't be surprised if the engine is underrated from the factory or is built better for mods. - BLINGMW - 11-19-2008 pssh there isn't going to be a Ford in 2010 hock:
- .RJ - 11-19-2008 I cant tell what changed? - Ginger - 11-19-2008 .RJ Wrote:I cant tell what changed? Plus One. I didn't look closely, just at the thumbnails... but, uh, looks the same. - DavidM - 11-19-2008 .RJ Wrote:I cant tell what changed? +1 I thought to myself if this passed me on the road I wouldn't even realize it was a new model. - Steve85 - 11-19-2008 With nothing better to do I caught the launch show on Speed last night. They had several historic Mustangs on stage including a couple 69's, a very desirable year for Mustang folk. The changes look like they are repeating the 67 to 68 / 69 changes in a more subtle way. The raised rear fender (similar to the Camaro) and more sloping and compressed front are definitely 68 / 69 styling cues. The engineer actually addressed the ability to customize and Ford is offering a couple "super-packs"...superchargers. My guess is compression is kept down and perhaps the cam is blower friendly which is also usually mileage and driveability friendly in a NA car. - Goodspeed - 11-19-2008 Not a fan. The changes are minor enough that if you squint you'll see the same good-looking (IMO) '05+ Mustang, but at the same time I'm not a fan of any of the subtle changes they've made. I'll still take a previous-gen Shelby GT in white or a Bullitt in Highland Green over this new iteration. Ford really did a great job with the last Mustang...best of luck to them with this one. But you know what that means...next up is the '71 barge and the Mustang II! ![]()
- Jeff - 11-19-2008 Wow... FAIL - Evan - 11-19-2008 about what I expected. Even the teasers looked pretty much the same as the current car. I wouldnt even really call it a facelift. I dont hate it but its just kind of blah With the challenger and camaro out, ford should have stepped up their game to compete. they didnt. - rezarxt - 11-19-2008 What ive been hearing on numerous sites is that the 15hp bump is only for 2010. In 2011 its supposed to get a 5.0 producing somewhere in the ballpark of 400 to the wheels. Although this isnt confirmed by ford yet, I pretty sure something is going to change in 2011 with the engine. But yes 315hp sucks. But ford isnt known for giving the mustangs very much power. Thats why so many mustangs are supercharged. - ScottyB - 11-19-2008 rezarxt Wrote:In 2011 its supposed to get a 5.0 producing somewhere in the ballpark of 400 to the wheels. is this the "hurricane" V8 that has been mentioned a few times in the magazines over the last year or two? - rezarxt - 11-19-2008 ScottyB Wrote:rezarxt Wrote:In 2011 its supposed to get a 5.0 producing somewhere in the ballpark of 400 to the wheels. No I think thats the 6.2L engine but I could be wrong. I doubt we'll ever see a 6.2L in a mustang gt. But I have heard rumors of ford possibly using the 6.2 in some type of special edition. Like I said though, none of these are confirmed by ford just internet talk on various mustang forums. - Sijray21 - 11-19-2008 Ginger Wrote:.RJ Wrote:I cant tell what changed? from what i can tell the rear is sloped a bit more. i think they're typical for a mid-model change, but nothing dramatic IMO |
