E30 Project #2 - Chris - 11-17-2008

So I picked up another e30 on Saturday. This one and I have some history, as I spent many months in the past building it with my friend. Its nearly identical to my other e30, except its an 84 325e with an eta engine. This is the 2.7 which has about the same torque, but not the same hp as my 2.5.

My friend was sick of trying to sell it and didn't have the time. He never touched the car after we finished building them, so I get another track car!

Here are the highlights:

84 with about 51,000 original miles
re-painted flat black... but its an awful paint job
same race seats as mine- sparco circuit and the sabelt passenger seat
welded in roll bar
spec e30 race springs and shocks
new rotors, pads, and SS lines
lots of maintenance- timing belt, water pump, fluid changes, plugs, wires, distributor, etc.
stripped out interior
sunroof delete
power steering and A/C removed

I'm going to let this car sit a while until I decide to use it or if my brother wants to use it. I need tires and harnesses it I were to autox it or track it.

Its currently not starting. I replaced the battery over the weekend but then it sprayed fuel from under neath at the fuel filter. It also didn't crank the engine at all. I've got a new filter and starter ordered and I'll install it next week. Hopefully it will start then! I'm also trying to get the bumpers back from the guy who painted it... not sure how well it will go.

The wheels in these pictures are for sale!!

haha, can't let me have more than one can ya!

I'm definitely considering selling it someday... but its kind of a gift to my brother... and I'm not sure if he'll want it once he can afford to put some things into it.

I'll let you know if I do sell it

Good deal man. Nice pick up.

Over Christmas I was able to pick up the bumpers and related parts from the guy who painted the car 2+ years ago... parts I thought were long gone. So, I cleaned them up and painted everything. I had to steal silver side mirrors from my parts bin, which actually worked out really well. I'm planning on re-painting the side mirrors and front grill pieces silver. I think it will look good on the flat black exterior.
