after potential ebay purchase:

Horrible? Acceptable? There's a lot of generic windshields/fairings that will work, this one is cheap and looks ok to me.

The other one I like comes off a Ducati Monster, but I'm having trouble finding one, let alone a cheap one:

If you were buying it to impress me, I'd prefer the half fairing.

- CaptainHenreh - 10-19-2008

I don't hate it. I've seen some SV's with them, they don't look terrible.

Trying too hard and ends up looking just plain confused.

- Mike - 10-19-2008

i really don't like the cafe one.
i am indifferent on the ducati one.
i'd have to say i prefer without.

- PGK - 10-19-2008

If I may chime in, I would say leave it as-is. Keep the money for tires and maintenance.

- Mike - 10-19-2008

i think your money would be better spent on track days and safety gear... fuckin ricer Tongue

- Evan - 10-20-2008

i really dont like cafe

- BLINGMW - 10-20-2008

I have no experience with the subject but I can't imagine those dinky things do that much to block wind.

kind of what i was thinking...looks like both just protect the gauges and maybe your midsection just a little. unless you're really tucked in there how are those fairings going to lift the wind over your torso?

that said, #3 or #1, with #1 best

- WRXtranceformed - 10-20-2008

#3 if you really have to get one, IMO. #2 looks weird.

- Mike - 10-20-2008

that thing ain't gonna block any wind except what's hitting your balls.

- BLINGMW - 10-20-2008

ok guys thanks for the feedback. I think I'll give it a shot. I could very well be wrong, but I experience significant improvements just by reaching my hand out and resting it on top of the gauges, forming a tiny shield, so I imagine this will help at least that much. There's less wind pressure on my helmet, it's a little quieter, and the airflow seems smoother.

Hey, I could do with less ball wind! :dunno:

- BLINGMW - 11-01-2008

Well, it is done. I find it quite acceptable, I like it more than I thought I would. It's a cheap cheap thing... but it definitely helps with the wind. I wonder how long till the cheap windscreen gets cracked.

- BLINGMW - 04-28-2009

I decided to get another one I like the looks of much better. It's some OEM or knockoff from what I understand, it's much heavier duty fiberglass with a thicker windscreen. Fit is very tight around the cluster and mounts are well thought out. Doesn't help as much with the wind unless I'm tucked though, oh well. :dunno:

nobody even cares I'm just bored.
