FS and requesting some info: 95 Civic 2 door - WRXtranceformed - 09-23-2008 Hey fellas. One of the managers at work heard that I was into cars and asked me for some help selling his son's Civic that's been sitting a while in their garage. I told him I'd put a feeler out there and also try to pick up some information on how much it's worth. Here are the details that he gave to me: 95ÔÇÖ Honda Civic ÔÇó SIR VTEC Motor & Transmission ÔÇó Short Ram Intake ÔÇó Skunk 2 Short Shifter ÔÇó Skunk 2 Intake manifold ÔÇó DC Sports Header ÔÇó Eibach Lowering Springs and Struts ÔÇó HID Headlights ÔÇó Panasonic CD player ÔÇó Greddy Catback Exhaust ÔÇó 18ÔÇØ Motegi Wheels ÔÇó Carbon Hood Here are some pictures he sent. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm in the process of finding out how many miles it has on it. He did mention to me that he was looking to get it out of their garage so it could probably be negotiated pretty heavily. He tried to start it this morning and it wouldn't start... my guess was dead battery since it hasn't been started in about 4 months. What do you guys think, any idea of what kind of price he should put on it? Anybody here interested? - Evan - 09-23-2008 $2k? maybe 2500? - WRXtranceformed - 09-23-2008 Cool. He says the chassis has about 100k miles and the engine has about 30k. - Mike - 09-23-2008 Evan Wrote:$2k? don't post if you haven't a clue. the engine alone is worth that. the rest of the car? not much. i'd ask maybe 4k and happily sell at 3500. 3k would be a steal. - Evan - 09-23-2008 Mike Wrote:then how did you get 14k posts?Evan Wrote:$2k? "modz" dont add any significant value, you should know this. just because you overpaid for a shitbox civic doesnt mean everyone should if he can find a sucker for 3500 more power to him, but I stand by 2500 as the value most people would pay for that car (well, most people wouldnt come near that car) - Mike - 09-23-2008 Mike Wrote:Evan Wrote:$2k? Evan Wrote:then how did you get 14k posts? you're right, i know nothing. evan knows all! where is the oil spilling all over the driveway pic? Evan Wrote:"modz" dont add any significant value, you should know this. a swapped motor does, dolt. Evan Wrote:just because you overpaid for a shitbox civic doesnt mean everyone should i did? news to me. if you knew anything about this subject, you'd know i got a pretty good deal, but you don't. Evan Wrote:if he can find a sucker for 3500 more power to him, but I stand by 2500 as the value most people would pay for that car (well, most people wouldnt come near that car) so you're not buying this car, we get it. that doesn't mean it's worth significantly less than what someone who IS interested in it would pay, dolt. - Goodspeed - 09-23-2008 knock it off, deletion of posts imminent.... - WRXtranceformed - 09-23-2008 $3500 sounds reasonable... he had it in getting an oil change a while ago and someone there offered to buy it straight up for $3500. He didn't sell it at the time because his son (who was driving it) thought it was not enough and wanted $5k. So if he posted it on Craigslist for $4k and settled for $3500 that would be a fair price? - Mike - 09-23-2008 yes. - navin - 09-23-2008 I'd lowball him with $2500 too. stunna mods = probably someone that didnt take care of the car. - WRXtranceformed - 09-23-2008 Thanks guys! - Mike - 09-23-2008 navin Wrote:I'd lowball him with $2500 too. you're the same person who highballs everything he sells (until it doesn't sell for years... then you get in line with realistic pricing) ![]() heck, i wouldn't even buy it for 2500, but SOMEONE will buy it for 3500. |
