Dyno Pull Pool - KPWSerpiente - 07-28-2004 Tues, 11 am at MachV/Ultimate Performance - my car will be strapped into the dyno for a solid 2 hour session. So now it is time to guess how much power I will make. Relevent info to help your guestimate: I myself will be doing the tuning with dsmlink version 2. to help with calculations: Fastest trap: 111 mph Est weight with driver and gas: 3100 lbs Quickest e.t.: 13.680 Airflow through the engine is 35 lbs/min. important things to know: Evo3 16g, clipped 10 degrees. Running about 25 psi. VP Racing C16 will be used. Stock head, stock intake manifold, stock throttlebody, stock unhacked 2g maf. 3 inch full exhaust, no cat. heavily ported evo3 o2 housing. I think that's the important stuff. To make it a little easier for you, it's going to fall between 280 - 320 wheel horsepower. -T *edit - Price is right rules apply. You want to be as close to the real number as possible without going over. Winner gets to drive it set up just like off the dyno, if they so choose. ***Pool*** Jack ÔÇô 293 Rob ÔÇô 295 Kaan ÔÇô 293.8 Reed ÔÇô 300 Dave ÔÇô 307 GSXChris ÔÇô 308 CaptainH - 315 Scott ÔÇô 318 Jason - 321.234 Travis - 325 Mike - 326 - Dave - 07-28-2004 307 - ScottyB - 07-28-2004 on race gas? 318 edit: was dumb and thought of crank hp instead of whp. take my guess down to 304. - REED - 07-28-2004 300 even seems like a nice round number - Sijray21 - 07-28-2004 321.23423421343252342342352342whp - JackoliciousLegs - 07-28-2004 293 - Mike - 07-28-2004 +1 to the highest number posted. My guess.... - Eclipsor - 07-28-2004 300 fwhp, provided you're running the same boost and still pushing 35 lbs/min. I see that you mentioned 25 psi in your post, so I'm guessing that your airflow numbers were acquired using race gas (I hope you didn't boost 25 psi w/ pump gas). Otherwise, I'd add roughly 10 chp/psi (8.5 fwhp/psi) if you choose to run higher boost with the C16. You should be able to eek at least 5 whp out of your car with DSMLink V2, so I'm guessing that you could see 305+ fwp by the time you leave. Since someone has already said 307 hp, I'll guess 308 fwhp so I don't screw myself. Chris - Eclipsor - 07-28-2004 Do you have stock cams? People are pushing 44+ lbs/min (~375 fwhp) with the Evo3 16G, albeit with a few more supporting mods than you. It's a very capable turbo. If you can get your 60' times below 2 seconds (as you know, I'm sure), your times will improve drastically. I'd highly recommend a new suspension setup to reduce weight transfer on launch. Slip your clutch a lot and feather the accelerator when you detect wheelspin. If you're not doing a burnout, then make sure you steer AROUND the water in the staging lanes. Chris P.S. At what RPM is your launch limiter set? You have NLTS active on DSMLink v2, correct? - JackoliciousLegs - 07-28-2004 welcome back chris! I need to break out the digicam for a tour of the gayrage and mangled messes of metal.
- Dave - 07-28-2004 wow, I got lost in all that mumbo jumbo for a second... 8) - KPWSerpiente - 07-28-2004 Yes, stock cams. Sorry I didn't mention that. Shapegsx is pushing 44 lbs a min, unclipped, unported, with stock flapper size. Mine blows open and only gives 19psi to redline. He also has a 1g head and intake manifold. We're a little different. I love how everyone's got tips on how I should drive. Yes, I steer clear of the water box, yes I slip the clutch, yes I wait until 3rd gear before going full throttle. Yes I need suspension badly, urethane motor mount inserts wouldn't hurt either. And yeah, slicks are also in the very near future to help me pull those 60 foots closer to you awd guys. I don't use the stutterbox. I tried that + antilag at the track once and I'm sure you can imagine the results. I launch at 3,5/4k, completely based on feel. Yes I use the no lift to shift for the 2/3 and 3/4 shifts. And you think I'm going in there with 300 wheel horsepowr? And coming out with just 5 more? I can see someone has no faith in my tuning abilities. -T - Mike - 07-28-2004 sell gs-t, buy gs-x - JackoliciousLegs - 07-28-2004 ^^^^yup... remove all your parts, and put it back to normal. You can fetch lots of money for those pieces... buy a gsx. - Sijray21 - 07-28-2004 too much of a hasle, just keep what you have and keep building. Seems to be doing great as of now! enough of this buy/sell/trade car shit...then when it breaks down, fix it or just go get another car and do the same. - .RJ - 07-28-2004 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:welcome back chris! Ah yes, the originator of b00st rot. I got $20 that says its still not running again by the end of the weekend
- JackoliciousLegs - 07-28-2004 lol.. but swapping cars is fun! |
