Out here in the great state of Nebraska we've had a tornado warning like every other day for the past week and a hal. Apparently just a little while ago people died not far from here. 'll get some pictures of the view up in a few. Hopefully nothing comes to ground on top of me.

be careful out there man. it may not be necessary at all but i've picked up a weather radio that can switch itself on in the event of a weather emergency if i'm asleep. so far it's come in handy once this year.
what is the situation with shelters out there? from what i understand not many people have basements due to the water table.
storms fascinate and terrify me at the same time. the STi would make a hell of a storm chaser!

I agree, the latest with the weather has started to frighten me. Storms seem to develop faster, are stronger, with more lightning and wind, and come through incredibly quickly.
I have always lived in the NOVA area my whole life... and I remember maybe one tornado warning when I was growing up. This spring/summer we've already had several warnings, and like 4 tornadoes that have actually dropped down in the area.
I have yet to see an actual tornado in person - I have mixed opinions of whether I want to or not. While it would be an incredible sight to see, I can't imagine how quickly it can turn from a cool sight, to holy shit where's the basement.

We experienced several on the farm I grew up on. It's a pretty cool thing to see but pretty terrifying in the same sense. It's sort of like watching a really bad car accident that's about to happen. It's been pretty consistent over my life though, I wouldn't say it's worsening.

Well I havn't seen one, yet.
They have some serious sirens and such in the cities and on base. I doubt I'll ever end up living somewhere
I don't know much about water tables or shelters. I would assume people in this part of the country have somewhere to hide.

we have sirens across the street from us and i absolutely hate the sound. i think the psychological effect gets me more freaked out than the actual weather.
my sister lives in central indiana and there are essentially no, or very few underground shelters due to basements constantly flooding. just curious if anything was different out there.
