Cause you asked for it - REED - 07-22-2004 here ya go, i will be the first to admit that at some angles it does look "funny", but i think that every car has a funny angle and that 905 of the time it still looks good hence i voted that i liked the RX-8, evenmore so for the Mazdaspeed version that is one fine piece of automotive ass and if some of you computer nerds want to throw some pics up go for it, i have neither the time nor the......time, for that - .RJ - 07-22-2004 Fuck y0 couch. - Ryan T - 07-22-2004 I like to look at the car from the front or the back. I don't really like it from the side. I also wish it had more power. - Sijray21 - 07-22-2004 i like the RX-7 a lot more. Not really diggin it too much. - JackoliciousLegs - 07-22-2004 bling bling Mazdaspeed RX8 looks so hot. ![]() ![]()
- Evan - 07-22-2004 When the car first came out, I thought it was weak and gutless. The styling has grown on me, I thought it was funky at first but now it looks like one of the best looking cars on the road. Mazda seems to pay much more attention to creating more of a purebred sportscar than a sportscar/cruiser - Kaan - 07-22-2004 I"m sorry.... this car has stigmas attatched to it. It was the car in Xmen.... and for some reason they borrowed the lunchbox rear doors. besides the fact that from the factory it looks like it has more ground clearance then the STi.... they had the power scandals with it and rated numbers.... i will say that the mazdaspeed one does look better with all the bling on it. i'm glad the wankle is back but damn could they put it in something more apealing! - Mike - 07-22-2004 Please no pictures of the Mazdaspeed in this thread. That's like saying a stock EK looks good because I posted a picture of a CTR. - Feersty - 07-22-2004 Yeah the wheel well gap is ridiculous on the stock cars. - BLINGMW - 07-22-2004 anyone got some thread links or info about this overrated power thing? I've heard it from others, but don't know any of the backup stories. Anyway, on looks alone, I honestly don't see how people are saying they "hate" it. The styling doesn't seem offensive, it's fresh, the fender flares are hot, smooth roof lines, well sclupted, it's got cool lights like the kids like these days without being too ricey, it looks like a well thought out, unique car with a lot of style. I think it's sexy, and although I wouldn't expect everyone to agree with that, I'd like to know some specifics on why someone would call it ugly. And the wheel gap and ride height doesn't look any worse than any other sporty car out there. It IS still a street car, and not everyone likes to scrape speed bumps. Leaves a little room for lowering. According to Edmunds, here's ground clearance in inches: STI - 5.7 EVO - 5.5 IS300 - 5.3 RX8 - 5.3 325 - 4.9 S2k - 4.2 so it KINDA looks like it's in the same balpark to me. And the doors? Come on, those are sweet. A great compromise between a useless 2 door and a less sporty 4 door. Interior looks great too. And the little rotors found everywhere are a cool idea in my book. Glad you've come around Evan (I guess the Miata talked him into it), cause they always catch my eye on the road. (Although I like it better without the spoiler, I think it makes the back look too "tall") ![]() *edit* hehe... I forgot the front kinda looks like a smiling pikachu. And he's DEFINATLY cool. *double edit* dammit. now you guys got me looking on autotrader. - Evan - 07-22-2004 chek it y0!
- Evan - 07-22-2004 on a more serious note, chan your picture leaves out the best color on the car by far ![]() ![]() I think my main problem with the styling was all the goofy vents and holes and scoops in the front end, which makes it look busy and distracts from the gorgeous outline of the car. The black color makes all the holes more subtle. - Dave - 07-22-2004 Evan Wrote:I wholeheartedly agree. - Mike - 07-22-2004 Car is overstyled, that is why I dislike it. - JackoliciousLegs - 07-23-2004 Black is the best color... of course and I can understand why some of you don't like the styling. As far as the power rating goes, Mazda was shooting for a near 3rd gen RX7 number, and they rated it at 247hp originally. They caught slack way before all the stunnaz starting dynoing their cars in the 180s. The seals to set and give higher compression above 2,000 miles though. Either way, they dyno just under 200rwhp, and they're currently rated at 238hp. - JackoliciousLegs - 07-23-2004 Quote:n order to help calm some of the upset RX-8 owners, Mazda PR and RotaryNews have worked out to release some of the testing data they used in their evaluation. I cannot stress enough how rare it is for a car company to release the actual time slips used in internal testing to the public. - Ryan T - 07-23-2004 Being a drag racing fan, that car needs a little more power to hang with the big boys in its segment. - G.Irish - 07-23-2004 RX-8 needs one more rotor. - JackoliciousLegs - 07-23-2004 JMULT1 Wrote:Being a drag racing fan, that car needs a little more power to hang with the big boys in its segment.I know.. but the RX8 makes good use of the steering wheel, unlike your "big boys" - Mike - 07-23-2004 G.Irish Wrote:RX-8 needs one more rotor.and one more snail thingie |
