First Subaru - Legacy GT spec.B - Apoc - 04-12-2008 Some would say I shouldn't have strayed European in the first place but I'm back to Japan after 6.5 years in Germany. I said I would never buy a new car again but I got it for $1300 below invoice with 0% financing and it's hard to argue with those economics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
- Dave - 04-12-2008 NICE! - ScottyB - 04-12-2008 love that color. how does it compare to the S4 (they're kinda similar in my mind) - Maengelito - 04-12-2008 very nice! heated seats are so nice, but i guess its not something you'll really appreciate until the winter. - HAULN-SS - 04-12-2008 very nice. I miss my legacy already, haha. - Jake - 04-13-2008 Lovin' the front end. Kind of a 'snarly' look. Sweet ride :-D - Apoc - 04-13-2008 ScottyB Wrote:love that color. how does it compare to the S4 (they're kinda similar in my mind) They're kinda similar in my mind too, which is why I bought it. I wanted something that was ~250hp, AWD, had 4 doors and all the little things the S4 had. The spec.B was really the only thing in my price range and it has things the S4 didn't like satellite radio, navigation, a 6 disc changer that plays MP3s and on-wheel audio controls. Considering the break-in period, I haven't really stepped on it yet. It has the SI Drive, which is different throttle maps, and I think I could see that being useful to save gas. It gets up and goes on the S# map and it sounds a lot more... agressive... than the Audi did. I only drive ~800 miles a month so at this rate the break-in period won't be over until mid-May. :? I forgot one pic...
- balactm - 04-13-2008 as much as i love my dad's A6 it had the most problems i've ever encountered in a car...i'm glad you decided to go Japanese. and excellent choice. - Feersty - 04-13-2008 HAULN-SS Wrote:very nice. If you leave that car unmolested power wise like your last one, it should last you forever. Dulles Subaru is good too, I bought my first WRX from them and they were good guys. One of the salespeople even let me take an 04 STi for a joyride just for S&G's haha - Apoc - 04-14-2008 The guys are Currys said you can get 30hp to the wheels just by changing the downpipe. That seemed a bit high to me but if true, it's tempting since the spec.B is detuned. - WRXtranceformed - 04-14-2008 You probably could with a downpipe + tune, but 30whp from just a downpipe switch doesn't sound accurate... unless a lot has changed since I left the Subaru world

That seemed a bit high to me but if true, it's tempting since the spec.B is detuned....consider the source - Apoc - 04-14-2008 Agreed, however I don't think Kofod is a bullshitter. Of course he was talking about the non-detuned WRX engine but still. - Apoc - 04-14-2008 It turns out my insurance is $100 cheaper every 6 months. Go figure. - WRXtranceformed - 04-14-2008 I mean the only way you're gonna pick up 30whp on that motor is by cranking up the boost and just swapping out the downpipe aint gonna do it. - Evan - 04-14-2008 I heard something about really high boost spikes on the 2.5 when you swap out the downpipe, so maybe thats where some power is coming from, although not the kind of power that you want of course - WRXtranceformed - 04-14-2008 Ew yeah, that's picking up 30whp in the not good way ha ha - John - 04-15-2008 Nice car Chris. My only complaint about the Legacy is that the turbo runs out of steam pretty early - so extending the flat torque curve will definitely help for peak hp (and can be achieved with minimal modification). |
